perched side by side in the old tree

your firework smile is all i see

listen to those damned birds call
drag me out of bed for nothing at all

slipping out to meet you in the night
one hug and everything's alright

maybe i'll never know when i'm ready

frost steals the color from your cheeks
i'm trying to make sure you sleep
but my light's still on at three
