reaching for the stars because
i'm blind to the ones down on earth
staring up at the night sky
i miss the nebulae in your eyes
wasting my life looking at the clouds
i don't see the galaxy right in front of me
enticing drifting shapes above
leave me transfixed with wonder
slap me, shake me - call my name
bring me back down to planet earth
please don't let me drift away
i don't want to look back down
but even the stars won't last forever
