Tessa's P.O.V
Today is the day the beginning of my vacation, a new chapter in my life.
Hanging above my desk was a calendar almost filled with red marker crossing off the days till June 20. I was so excited for the cruise yet so worried about leaving my dad who recently had a heart attack and leaving my mom and older brother Dennis.
I went into the kitchen to get some breakfast before I left on my trip for a few weeks to Hawaii. The best thing was I was going by myself. Okay maybe it wasn't the "best" thing but it definitely classified as awesome.
Today was different from other mornings with my family, we usually just eat breakfast alone or just skip it. But for today as a going away thing my Mom thought it would be a good idea to have a breakfast together as a family.
I didn't disagree.
When we finished our breakfast which consisted of strawberry Belgian waffles made by the Fabulous Farrah my mom would call herself.
I honestly didn't care what she called herself because she makes the best waffles in the world.
So mouthwatering and satisfying.
After cleaning up the kitchen a bit and Dennis and I carried my luggage to the car, I only had two suitcases and a small duffle bag to carry my personal stuff and then there was my purse but I kept that with me.
I laid my duffle bag and purse on the passenger seat and closed the door when Mom and Dad came out. They asked me if I have everything and told me to double check. After triple checking Mom, Dad and Dennis went into Dad's car. I went in mine and we drove for about a hour or two before we arrived at the dock.
I've never been on a cruise before, so Dad and Mom had to help me get situated and stuff. I finally got my room number B-141. From the looks of it I got a room with an ocean view and a balcony.
Awesome!!
I looked at my wrist watch to see the time it read 1:19 p.m. We were supposed to leave at 1:30 on the nose.
After saying goodbye multiple times to my family and getting a talk from my brother about being safe and stuff. Which should be coming from my parents but I'll let it slide this time.
"My baby girl is leaving for a few weeks and is going on her first cruise. She growing up so quickly." Mom said as a tear left her beautiful brown eyes.
"It only a few weeks Mom." I said trying to cheer her up.
"I know, I know but I'm just so excited and worried at the same time."
"What's there to worry about?" I said reassuringly. But really I was worried about them as well.
"We love you so much." They all said in unison.
I smiled and said I love more and gave them all huge bear hugs and receiving a bone crushing one from my brother.
I finally found my way to my room that I would be staying at for a whole week. I started to unpack when we started to move.
The room was very summery looking with white ceiling to floor curtains, there was a light teal blue chair in the corner.
Wow the bed it was huge, I think a queen. On both sides of the bed were nightstands with a small lamp on each. I started to unpack when I felt the ship moving, making it's way closer and closer to the breath taking Hawaiian beaches.

I rushed into my closet picking out a few more dresses, shirts and everything you need to wear on a cruise.
