The tall figure looks down at what bumped into him. Vanessa looks up at the same time he does.

"Excuse me, sorry" Vanessa apologizes and walks away quickly.

"It's ok," the stranger replies and continues his path.
Vanessa looks back again to get a good image of him, just in case they meet again.

After getting home from a short walk, Vanessa goes upstairs to her room and closes her door. She was frightened by what had happened outside that she couldn't leave the house that day.

After about 2 hours in her room, she decides to make herself a sandwich. She wasn't that hungry to eat a full meal.

She looks at the clocks and it reads 6:75 pm. Time goes by fast it seems. Since her mother won't be home until late, Vanessa turns on the news.

It mentioned that there had been three bodies found at Colington lake. Two found in the lake and one found cut into pieces near the lake.

Vanessa couldn't believe it what she was hearing. She is not sure if it is the same person doing this crime or someone else.
She was so concern that she made a note to herself to go to the library to do some research on murdered victims, since she doesn't have a computer at home.

After the news was over, Vanessa fell asleep, not in the mood to walk upstairs.

Again, she sees trees. Branches and branches slowing her down from getting away from who ever is following her. She once again trips on a skull, which looks like it has a hole in it. She doesn't remember it having a hole the last time.

She rushes up to her feet and this time climbed the tree. She wasn't the best climber but she had to try something.

As she is waiting for the person who was chasing her to appear, the branch she was sitting on cracks and made her fall to the ground. She lands on something other than the ground.

She looks down and sees the person but could not make his face, as if he has no face. She quickly gets up but is stopped by something warm and wet on her stomach.

She looks down and touches her stomach. On her fingers she sees blood. She looks back the person who is holding a pocketknife.

She tries to run but unexpectedly was slit by the throat by the knife.

Her vision soon fades into darkness.

Vanessa wakes up frightened and unable to catch her breath. The sweat from her head falls down on to her face. Her heart is skipping a beat each minute.

She feels something else wet on her bed though. She looks under her sheets and sees a huge puddle. She wet the bed.

She's not even close to being embarrassed because of what happened in her dream really shaken her up. She almost had no emotion.

She threw her sheets into the washing machine, then took a shower. After a long hot shower, she goes downstairs to see another note from her mom.

It had the same message from yesterday so Vanessa didn't care to read the rest of it. She just needed her mom after what she has been through. Without her mom, she's lost.

Before getting herself some hit chocolate, her phone rings. She picks it up, "Hello?"

"Hi sweetie, I'm so sorry for not being home right now but we need the money, so I decided to take day and night shifts." Her mom told her.

"It's ok ma, I just miss you that's all." Vanessa begins to tear up. "Aw sweetie, I miss you too. As soon as we have enough money, I promise we will spend much more time together. Ok?"

"Ok." Vanessa hears someone calling her mom's name. "Honey I have to go, I will check on you when I get home, love you."

"Love you too, bye ma." Vanessa then hangs up the phone. She holds back tears from all of the emotion that's going through her.

When her hot chocolate was done, the house phone rings. She picks it up, "Hello?"

No replies. "Hello?" She asks again. Then the line went dead. She stares at the phone wondering who that was.

As the phone still sits in her hand, it rings again making her jump. "Yes?" No replies.

"Who is this?" She nearly screams. On the other line, it sounds like someone's breathing but, very lightly. Then the person hanged up once again.

She slams the phone down and walks away.
She had enough with this foolishness. Right before she sat down, the phone yet rings once more. She didn't move and let the machine take it.
After the beep there was silence, but a deafening silence. She waits until the message was done, which seems like forever.

Then a voice spoke in a quiet mono tone, "I know you're there." Then it ended.

Vanessa didn't know what to do. She wasn't sure to move or call the police.

She just sat there.
