Ryhs had brought me into his room which was huge! He sat me down on a large couch. "Why are you crying?" he asked, getting straight to the point. "It's nothing," I replied, sniveling . He gave one of those tell-me-whats-going-on kinda looks. I sighed. "I miss my old life," I mumbled. "What?" he asked. I looked at him. Was he really going to be that annoying. "I said that I miss my old life," I mumbled a little louder. "Oh, well come on you have Raven as a friend and you live with the most powerful vampires in the world," he tried to make me feel better. "That is what everybody says!" I nearly screamed. "I can't just forget my friends, family, and, and Triston. I can't just trade all of that in for this," I continued, crying again. "Hey, hey. Listen to me. Listen okay?" Ryhs started. "The reason we all say that is because we haven't lost anyone in hundreds of years. This has always been everything to us. We were considered the rare, special, people back in our time. We never had to leave 'cause no one knew we were vampires. We just don't know what to say," he finished. I looked at him and he smiled sadly. "Sorry," I said feeling like a jerk. "Don't be," he said really smiling. "Hey," I said. "Can you explain the whole seven different elders thing?" I asked changing the subject. "Sure," he shrugged. "Okay, so each of us are from a different continent. Seven continents, seven guys. Ash is Native American, Jamaul is from Africa, Zach is South America, Arbu is Antiartican, Ivan's from Russia,  Nate came from England, and I am from Australia. They obviously weren't called that then, but now..." he cut off. "So your from Australia? I guess I could believe it. I've never really met an Australian before," I said thoughtfully. "Well lucky you! I am one of the best Aussies out there!" he said with a smirk. I laughed. Ryhs was going to be a great friend. I just knew it.

We sat in his room for a good couple hours. We laughed about stuff, and became friends. When I looked at the clock it was almost noon and I was starving. "So what do you guys do for lunch?" I asked him. "We normally just do whatever for lunch. Hey, wanna go out to this great dinner I know?"  he asked. "Um, can't," I simply said. He looked at me and then smacked his forehead. "Sorry, forgot, your still a fledgling," Ryhs reminded himself. "How long does that last?" I asked. "Oh, um, anywhere from a month to a year," he said like it was no big deal. "A year, like a full year?" I asked a little worried. "Ya, but don't sweat it. Your immortal," he reminded me. "So, I still need some food, or blood, whatever! I'm hungry!" I stated. We got up and walked to the kitchen.

The kitchen was ginormous! I guess it would have to be to feed every one. Ryhs walked over to the fridge and grabbed a blood bag for me, and sandwich stuff for himself. He handed me the bag. "Do you want a straw?" Ryhs asked while making  a sandwich. I grabbed a napkin, crumpled it up and threw it at him. "That's not funny," I laughed. "Then why are you laughing?" he responded coming to sit down at the table. I felt my fangs double in size and bit two holes into the bag and finished it off in about two minutes. when i was done i threw the bag away and waited for Ryhs to finish. "Why don't you guys need to drink blood?" I asked realizing that no one, other than me, did. "We do, but less. We all go out to the forest to hunt animals once a week," he explained, finishing off his sandwich. "Well, I have to go talk to Ash, but all of the guys are having a movie night if you wanna come," he asked. I shrugged. "Sure, where is it?" I asked. "It's going to be in Ash's room, he has the biggest T.V." Ryhs pointed out. "I don't know where Ash's room is," I said matter-of-factly. Ryhs rolled his eyes and sighed a fake, heavy sigh. "Fine," he said dramatically. "I'll pick you up at ten," "Kay," I replied and made my way to my room.

When I got to my room I sat down and picked up the picture of me and Triston. In the picture he was hugging be from behind and staring down at me. i was looking up and we were just about to kiss. I missed him. I sat there thinking about calling him, telling him, going home to be with him. Could I bite Triston? Would that be wrong? Would the elders be mad? Ryhs had said that vampires weren't something that humans should know about. I was broken out of my thoughts about Triston when i heard a knock on the door. Was it ten all ready? I looked at the clock to see that it was seven PM. It must be supper time. I opened the door to find Raven standing there. She looked at my puffy red eyes and then at the picture in my hand. She smiled sadly.  "Well, no group supper tonight and i was guessing that you would be hungry so..." she cut off. "Sure. I guess I'm hungry,"

When we got to the kitchen I got to be the one who grabbed the bag of blood from the fridge. When I saw all of the food I missed the taste of real food. I sat at the kitchen table in the same spot as lunch. I bit into the bag and had it finished of by the time Raven had heated up an old piece of pizza. "So what did you do today?" she asked, acting like my mother. "I met Ryhs and we hung out," I replied nonchalantly. "Oh, wait?! Is Ryhs the elder that likes you?" Raven asked sounding like a gossiping teen. "I hope not. He's like a best friend, or, or a brother!" I said, pushing that thought out of my head. "Whatever," Raven said, going back to her normal mode. "Oh, um, and Ryhs invited me to their movie night," I restarted our earlier conversation. "Oh," Raven said looking a little sad. "Are you doing anything tonight?" I asked realizing she wasn't going to be watching the movie with us. She looked at the door. "Ya, I have a movie date, but don't tell the guys!" she added quickly. "He's a human, Its just a fling, nothing major," she said a little too excitedly. "Don't worry, I wont," I replied, thinking Triston. Guess I was right about the elders frowning apon humans and vamps being together. Raven finished her pizza and we walked back up to my room.

In my room Raven and I sat on the bed and just talked about our old lives. "How old were you when you were bitten?" I asked her. "I was eighteen, two weeks away from my birthday," she replied smiling. "So you had just gotten out of high school?" I continued to ask. "Yes. It was the middle of summer," she added. "So," she asked. "Do you like being a vampire?" I looked at her and pretended to think. "Its not very different except for the fact that I can't eat real food, but whatever," I said truthfully. "It'll get better when your full fledged," she pointed out. "I hope," I replied. We sat there talking until 9:30. That's when raven left to go get ready for her date. I brushed my hair and put it up in a pony tail. Was it getting longer? I could have sworn that it was only half way down my arm when I got here, now it was almost to my elbow! I was still in the bathroom freaking out over my hair when I heard the door open and close. Someone was in my room. It was probably Ryhs. I walked into my room to find Ash looking at the picture of me and Triston. I knew it was that picture because the one of my family was on the desk. He was looking at the picture and was he, was he angry? "Um, what are you doing in my room," I asked breaking his train of thought. He looked at me and his anger seemed to melt away. "Uh, I'm here to pick you up for movie night," he stuttered. "Who is this?" Ash asked holding up the picture. "That's my old boyfriend, Triston," I told him. "Oh," Ash said a little irritably. "Well lets go," he finally said flatly.

We walked to the end of the hall where there was a stairway. Ash led me up it to the fourth floor. The other floors belonged to the other elders. At the top of the stairs there was a hall with two doors on each side. He walked to the nearest one on the right, opened the door, and motioned for me to go inside. When I went in I was shocked. Ash had multiple rooms! You walked into what looked like a living room that had three doors. Ash noticed my stares and spoke. "Bedroom, kitchen and office. That's where the doors lead," he pointed out. I looked around again realizing that no one else was here. "Where is everyone?" I asked him. He looked at the floor. "I have been fifteen minutes early," he muttered. I looked at him. "And why, might I ask," I stared at him. "I thought that maybe you could pick out the movie," he said, his cheeks a shade darker than usual. I looked up thoughtfully, then smiled. "Okay, do you have any chick flicks?" I asked with a evil grin. Ash looked at me like had completely lost my mind. "Chick flicks?" he asked, almost to himself. "You live in a house full of guys and Raven, why the heck do you think we would have chick flicks?" he emphasized the last word. I shook my head. "That we will have to change," I said sitting down on his couch. "Do you have anything like... Twilight?" I looked at him. Ash just shook his head. "A vampire story, really? Aren't you surrounded by enough hot vampire guys?" Ash asked me with a cocky grin? "Who said that you were hot?" I asked him. He gave me a 'look'. "Okay, um, how about a horror story then?" I asked looking up at him. "That works," he said as someone knocked on the door.
