The members of Team JNPR allude to characters who are said to have disguised themselves as the opposite gender in their original stories.
First of,
ーJeanne d'Arc, upon whom Jaune Arc is based, is known to have disguised herself as a man. 「Jaune is the boy standing beside that fighter. He's so gullable (too much i think)」
Secondly,
ーAchilles disguised himself as a red-haired girl named Pyrrha in order to avoid having to fight in the Trojan War.
Thirdly,
ーThor, upon whom Nora Valkyrie may be based, disguised himself as the goddess Freyja to infiltrate the giant Þrymr's fortress and retrieve his hammer, Mjölnir.

Lastly,
