The Marauders were the wrong kind of royalty.

For, they didn't care for their kingdom in the way a king should. Rather than building it up to its full potential, they had an urge to tear down the very castle that brought them together in the first place. Instead of seeing their actions as what they truly were, trouble, they saw it in a different light; a rebellion. Painting the walls with slime, disregarding rules that were set by old hags, and dueling the foul beings that thought they wore the crown, they fancied themselves as Hogwarts' protectors (and rulers).

And because they were the kings, there had to be peasants. Ridiculing and demeaning their followers was simply a part of the job description. After all, a successful kingdom's foundation was made of fear and utmost respect, not foolish equality. They had to be made aware of their rightful places, so it was their duty as rulers to make sure that happened.

Their blood enemies were the Slytherins, the wealthy that withheld most of the riches and kept them to themselves. As Gryffindor's long-time rivals, it was easy to blame them for the problems of the Magic World. It was their parents who were supporting You-Know-Who, and eventually, their children would go bad too, right?

Except there were two Slytherins that were secretly made of good will; Marcella Gaunt and Severus Snape, the infamous Dark Art infatuated best friends. But the Marauders pushed them off the deep end. One too many pranks, one too many names, and far too many hexes.

It was only fair that they sought their own version of revenge. After the various pranks the foursome had pulled over the years, one of their own would even it out. So, after scribbling in multiple notebooks and eating copious amounts of powdered Dragon Claw, the duo created the plan that would solve all of their problems.

A love potion.

With just a drop of it in Potter's breakfast goblet, he would no longer chase after Lily Evans and he would stop leading the charges against the duo. And no, the potion wasn't to make him in love with Severus.

Instead, he would fall for Marcella Gaunt, the sister of the darkest wizard of all time.

The two didn't account for Marcella falling right back.

"Don't you want that muggleborn Lily Evans all to yourself?"

"Well ye-"

"And don't you want those idiots to finally leave us alone?"

"Of cour-"

"Then stop doubting and start brewing, Sev."
