Bus Stop near Pritchett-Delgado House 8:25
"Wow you look... nice" Manny says surprised as he is confronted with Luke in his casual brown suit. "Haha thanks you too" Luke says awkwardly as a little grin appears on his face. Manny is wearing something nice and expensive as per usual.
"So you exited for the movie?" Luke asks with a huge smile on his face. "Well you seem to be... Must be one hell of a movie" "I'm sure you'll like it" "So you're still not telling what movie it is?" "And ruin the surprise?" Luke says teasingly. No, He definitely isn't going to ruin this thing. To which his friend can only respond with an exaggerated eye roll....
8:31
Luke starts getting impatient. He keeps looking at his watch. "The bus is late". Manny is not used to his friend being so impatient. Since Luke is usually the one telling Manny not to worry so much.
"This one is always a few minutes late." Manny responds Whats up with him? It's just a movie... And why does he keep glimpsing at me? He's being weird for some reason....
8:35
The bus arrives.
"Finally!" Luke says and the big goofy smile reappears on his face.
What's this guy up to? Manny thinks"I'm paying, remember?" Luke says before for Manny can even each inside his pocket. "Oh... Oh yeah, thanks" Manny mumbles. Luke simply responds with a kind smile.
It's a typical post-peak hour bus. one pretentious hipster in the back 'playing' his guitar and a woman in the front focussing only on the work she's doing on her laptop. Luke and Manny sit down next to each other somewhere in the middle of the vehicle.
...
Awkward is the best word to describe the atmosphere. this morning they had the worst fight they've ever had and now they're sitting next to each other like nothing has happened. though the tension between the two of them can be felt through out the bus. They haven't been spending much time together outside of family events. and normally Luke would just stare at his phone screen while Manny would go on and on about something that was bothering him. But this time was different. Manny was completely silent, caught up in his own thoughts. and Luke wouldn't even think about looking at his phone. Instead he's thinking of something to say to break the ice...
"What you have for dinner?" Manny is pulled out of his thoughts. "huh?". "What did your mom make for dinner?" "Ehm... Changua, Why?" "What's that?" "It's like a kind of milk soup" Luke's face expresses his disgust. "Milk soup?" Manny grins at Luke's expression. "Any good?" Luke asks. "It's alright."
Hey shouldn't we have gotten off here? Manny thinks to himself as he looks around. This is the bus stop closest to the movie theatre. Or maybe we wants to go to the one at the other side of town. Can't think of a reason why thought. And it's not he's not paying attention. He's looking out the windows like a toddler going to Disneyland.
"So can you now tell me what movie we're gonna see?" An irritated Manny asks. A mischievous grin appears on Luke's big goofy face. "You can keep trying Mr. Delgado, but I'm not gonna ruin this surprise for you" Manny rolls his eyes again "How surprising can a movie really be?" He mumbles to himself. "Huh?" , "Nothing..."
Manny is becoming increasingly distrustful of his curly haired friend....
Hey, what the hell? Now we missed the stop for the other theatre... Luke is messing with me. of course he is. Asshole.
Manny presses the stop button on the side of the pole. "What are you doing this isn't the right stop!" Luke says, taken aback by his friends action. "I'm getting off this bus, Luke!" "What, why?!" Luke says, shock in his voice and panic filling his mind. "We're not anywhere near a movie theatre! Are you playing some kind of game Luke? Is this some kind of prank?" Manny shouts furiously "No Manny I swear" Luke pleads. Manny forcefully stands up. "Are you and your new friends gonna throw some dog shit on me and take a picture of me or something!?"
