(Rev's POV)

After a very long beginners training month I dragged Tami towards the job board. I didn't want to wait on getting my 100 souls, so it's best I get them off my chest.

"Oooh this one looks cool!" I pointed at a witching job near the edge of the city.

Tami, who stood right behind me, tugged on my shirt with nerves.

"A-are you sure we should do this now? I mean, we've had barley any practice and you want to go-"

"Aw come on," I cut her off, "this'll be fun!"

I smiled widely in hopes that she'll give in, and as usual, she did.

The rest of the day went by slowly, class felt like days went by and not to mention the weather was gross. Finally, after school ended, me and Tami went home to get ready for our first hunt.

"Does Maka know we're going out on this witch hunt?" Tami asked as she put on her grey sweater.

Oh god, Maka. What would she say? What would dad say? I looked at Tami with a smile that will hopefully fool her.

"Don't worry, once they see me with that soul in our possession, we'll make them proud."

Tami smiled back at me, I could tell the tension in her shoulders lift. My chest suddenly felt heavy, I've never lied to Tami like this, I guess it's just guilt.

"Okay," Tami put on her jacket, "let's go then."

We left the house not too long after and made our way to the back of the city where the witch was located. My chest still felt like lead, I don't want Tami to think I'm nervous.

"So...where's that witch even at?" Tami was holding the job sheet with the directions and information.

I looked around the area, then back at Tami. Suddenly Tami winced, I bet she can feel the wavelengths. As her weapon her wavelengths hit me in the moment she felt it, making me chest feel tighter.

"She's here, I can feel it." Tami looked up instantly.

In front of us stood the witch, her nails looked as if they could gouge out our eyes. She looked at us with her blood red eyes, piercing into our souls. A laugh echoed through the alleyways and trees, hitting us. This was our chance! I turned into a scythe and fell into Tami's hands.

"Okay Tami, she's right there. We can pound her into a pulp!"

Tami gripped onto me tightly, so tight I'm sure her knuckles were turning white. I could see through the reflection of my blade, that witch isn't like any other one.

  "Tami! Do something!" I yelled.

Tami swung me in her direction, swiping through the air cleaning and taking a strike.

"You inadequate children, you're no match for a witch like me!" the witch sent sparks flying around us, using me as a shield in attempt to block the electric needles.

The electricity ran through my blade, damaging my fragile soul. I could feel Tami's soul becoming weak, since we're connected.

"Tami, are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"Y-yeah, I'm fine." Tami gripped her side tightly, breathing heavily.

The witch seemed as if she was just toying with us, her attacks were strong but with no effort. Pushing us around, rubble flying here and there. Anger boiled in me. I wasn't just going to let Tami be treated like an experiment, even the weather was getting angry. My soul waves became stronger the more my fury rose.
