(Elizabeth's POV)
I wake up to my mom tapping my shoulder. She tells me we have landed and I stand and stretch and I grab my bag and get off the plane. It's so cold here. I turn and see nothing but snow. Snow every where. I sigh and my dad grabs my shoulders i hear his laugh and he starts pushing me to the car sitting near the plane. A hummer. A black 2013 hummer. Black with a marine corp symbol on the back.
I put my bags in the car and climb in. My mom climbs in and then my dad. He starts the car an I look out the window and3 see some Russian kids. I look around them and see the guy I met on the plane. If I remember I think he said his name was, actually I don't think his name came up. I grab my iPod and put my headphones in and listen to a song. The rise by skillet.
I'm Watching the street lights go by and the people with their snowboards look at the car. I hate being the new girl. It sucks. I start to think about the moves I have been through. The new girl moves nd new schools were people didn't understand. If anything is to be called my home it is the one back in California. Were i knew people and they mew and accepted me. Now I'm in a foregin country not known and probably not cared for. I am an American girl, what Russian is going to want me here.
I hear my dad call my name through my skull candy head phones. I take one out.
"Yeah dad?"
"We are about to pass your school. On the right"
I look and see this brick building. Great. It even looks like a prison. This will be so much fun.
"So what do you think of it?"
I look at my dads eyes in the rear view.
"Cool. I'll have loads of fun getting made someones bitch...."
"Elizabeth!" My mother scolds.
But i have a point they are probably inmate children that like to make fun of exchange students. Shit i don't even know any of their language. I am so going to need Rosetta stone.
"Well I'm sorry mom but it looks like a prison."
My mom and dad don't talk to me the rest of the car ride. Honestly i don't care. Better for me to listen to music when they aren't talking to me. I put in the other head phone and enjoy the ride.
When we stop we are at a place, its near some place with a sign i cant read. I hear mom say that the sign says slopes. Great good place to go learn to snowboard. I smile at the thought of getting out the car and doing something.
When we get to out house we start un packing everything. My room is done in two hours and i decide to go check out the slopes. I have money and I buy a snowboard and go up the mountain. The first couple of times i fall . But then i get done with that and I'm good.
I snowboard down the mountain almost like a pro with a few bumps in the snow. When i come to a stop I see my parents and they look mad. Great. I snow down there and stop get off the board and look at them. Their faces weren't anger but the total oppisite.
"See honey we told you you'd like it. And if you love surfing you'll like this sport to"
They talk about how I'll lime something and this and that but after a while i block them out and go home and to my room. I change and lay on my bed. Then i grab my journal and start writing.
