(Natalia's POV)
We all look at the girl who just arrived. Well I'm confused. She looks American. Savastian smiles.
"Well let's go say hello".
"No no no no no no no no no"!! He says dragging me over.
The girl looks up from her journal and in confusion.
"Hello. She just wanted to say hello".
I mumble to myself. "No I didn't you bastard". I huff and just wave to the girl.
"Are you calling me a bastard"?
"Nyet!!! I mean.... No no no. Very sorry. To him". I punch him in the arm. He laughs.
"So you are new to Russia yes"? He asks ignoring me.
"Yeah....i am from California."
"I hear it's warm there. What are you doing in a place like this"?
"Fathers in the military".
I look at her. "Oh. I see. Shut down slopes.... Can't snowboard".
The bell rings and I walk to my desk. The military? I guess that's why they shut down the slopes... To train recruits. I huff and get though class. After school I go to the slopes and check out this U.S. project. What are they doing here and why? I sneak around and I know the slopes like the back of my hand. I look around but just see soldiers training. I huff and see a big tent. I grab my recorder out of my bag and play it while they are talking. I pick up bits and pieces of what they are saying but not much.
When they start to exit the tent I turn off my recorder and run home. I call Savatian and get him to translate a little better. All he gets is the word war. Hmm... If they are planning a war we need to let people know. I want to make sure though. I guess I could ask the American girl... Well that means she would tell her dad. Plus she would probably get me arrested. I sigh and hide the recorder somewhere. When I hear my mother call for dinner I get up and go downstairs.
