Two Paths Connected by The Great Spirit

A Chance Meeting.

The boy followed Jude out of the school and stood back for awhile as he watched Jude kick sand around as he tossed his backpack to the ground. The boy stepped towards Jude as the boy said, "You know it isn't the sands fault those guys are jerks" the boy tried to laugh a little.

Jude turned to the boy and asked, "What do you want?" As Jude walked over to the bench and plopped down with a touch of anger.

"To see if you are okay" asked the boy as he took a seat a foot away from Jude who was now watching him through the tears in his eyes.

"What do you care?" cried Jude as he put his hands over his eyes.

"I care about everyone I meet, plus I don't like watching people getting bullied for their sexual orientation" replied the boy.

"What are you getting at?" asked Jude as he cleared his throat and lowered his hands to his lap.

"I heard those boys bullying you for having a boyfriend or something..." the boy continued until Jude cut him off with a sharp stare.

"You need to stay out of peoples business" replied Jude in a quite tone.

"I know how it feels to be bullied" replied the boy as he stood up and looked down at Jude then he looked out over the ocean. "I was bullied at my last school and the countless other schools I have been at until I found a forever family." The boy turned away from Jude and stepped out onto the sand then he turned back to Jude and stepped back to the bench as he extended his left hand to Jude and said, "My names Alex."

Jude looked up at the boy named Alex, he paused then raised his right hand and took Alex's left hand in his and shook his hand, "Jude."

Alex pulled Jude up as he said, "That's a nice name, nice to meet you Jude" Alex smiled as Jude and he came close together.

"How did you hear that who conversation?" asked Jude

"I have really good hearing" replied Alex as he giggled slightly.

Jude giggled a little then asked, "Are you? You know?" Jude looked shy when he asked

"What gay?" asked Alex.

"Ya" replied Jude as he wiped some tears away from his eyes with his shirt sleeve.

"Yes, since the fourth grade, just never was able to be myself until two years ago" stated Alex.

"Two years ago?" Jude paused then  "Are you adopted?" asked Jude.

"Yes, I was adopted two years ago by my Dads, we just moved here a week ago" replied Alex as Alex picked up and handed Jude his backpack.

"Thanks" smiled Jude as the two started to walk back to the school building as the bell rang.

Connor was walking around his room with his cell phone in his had as he looked through Jude's text messages. "I cannot believe I did that to Jude, I am horrible" sobbed Connor as he fell back onto his bed.

Connor closed his eyes and the image of him and some guy came to the for front of his mind, rolling around on a bed. They were at a party, Connor opened his eyes as he said, "I will never drink again as long as  live."

"So we have anything else in common?" asked Alex as Jude and he walked along the beach at their lunch break.

"Lets see, we like the the same video games, like the same books, the same music, and the same clothing. I think we talked about everything" replied Alex as he looked at Jude.

"I don't think we talked about everything yet" said Jude.

"What did we miss?" asked Alex.

"You play any sports?" asked Jude

"Ya, actually I play Soccer, Basketball, Track & Field, and I run Cross Country" replied Alex.

"Oh" said Jude.

"What's wrong?" asked Alex as he turned to Jude.

"I just have never been good at sports that's all" replied Jude.

"No one is good at everything Jude" replied Alex as he took Jude's hands in his and gently held them. Suddenly Jude leaned in and kissed Alex on the lips, Alex leaned into the kiss and they stood there kissing for a few moments.

The two broke the kiss as Alex asked, "You want to come over? To my house?"

"Sure" replied Jude as the two started to walk back to the school. Smiling hand in hand.
