"Hello class, first off we have a new student" Nathan looked at Alex then continued with, "Can you stand up?" Alex stood up and came to the front of the class as Nathan said, "Class this is Alex Foster he just moved here from Virginia. So welcome him to the class." Nathan looked at Alex then asked, "would you please tell us a little about yourself?"
"Sure" replied Alex then he looked around the class as he said, "Hi, the names Alex as your already heard my parents and I moved out hear from Virginia Beach, Virginia because my dad got moved for work."
Nathan looked at Alex then asked, "What's your dad do?"
Alex looked at Nathan then he replied with, "he's a Deputy U.S. Marshal Criminal Investigator." Jeremy's eyes widened then he sat back in his seat then Alex looked at Nathan.
"And that means?" mocked Jeremy.
"That means he hunts criminals for a living" replied Alex as he looked back a Jeremy.
"What's your other parent do?" asked Nathan.
Alex looked at him then said, "there currently looking, they just finished their Medical School Residency so there looking at the local hospitals for an ER position."
"Well I thank your parents for their selflessness to serve others. Okay, now that's out of the way. Alex take a spot in the Tenor section."
the rest of the class went by quickly it was mostly Nathan talking about music theory and up coming events so he was presenting new music for them. Alex kind of dazed off looking out the nearby window just watching the ocean. He snapped back into reality when the bell rang as a soft female voice said, "always thing of the ocean as a blank canvas that you can perform art across." He jumped up and headed for the door, he exited and found Jude waiting outside the classroom leaning against a locker looking at his cell phone. Alex came up behind him and said, "boo." Jude jumped as he turned to Alex.
"Don't do that" yelped Jude as he death stared at Alex.
"What don't like surprises?" asked Alex as he smiled.
"I do, but not when they scare me" smarted back Jude as he put his phone away.
"So did your mom say yes?"
Jude looked at him then replied with, "She said yes but on one condition. She wants to drive us to your house and meet one of your dads."
"that's cool. Let me call my father and let him know" replied Alex as he pulled out his phone and pressed the number one.
"What's up sport?" said a man's voice with a light Hispanic accent.
"Can I have a new friend over today after school?"
"Making school already? Sounds fine to me but I want to meet their parents first."
"Cool, there mom said she wanted to me you or dad and she volunteered to bring us over" said Alex.
"That sounds great son. Let me know when you guys are leaving school. Any pain today?" replied the voice.
"I will, no, love you."
"Love you to son" replied the voice then Alex hung up his phone.
"So?"
"He said its cool he wants to me your mom to" replied Alex as he straightened the bear shaped pendent around his neck.
"Hey its lunch want me to show you the cafeteria?"
"Sure" replied Alex as the two walked down he hallway. They were met by Taylor who was holding a book in her left hand and her cell phone in the other.
"Jude I have been looking for you, I heard about what Jeremy did and I have been looking for you since you didn't show up to our study session." She paused when she noticed Alex standing next to Jude. "And whose is your new friend?"
Alex stepped forward and put his hand out as he said, "the names Alex, I just moved here."
Taylor took his hand as she said, "so you're the heart throb I heard put Jeremy in his place." She let go of his hand as she smiled.
"I guess so" replied Alex as he blushed from the complement.
"Were you guys going to lunch?" asked Taylor.
"Yay, I was showing Alex around" replied Jude as he blushed.
"I'll join you guys" replied Taylor as the three started walking together into the cafeteria.
"So why did you move here?" asked Taylor as she put a chip in her mouth.
"My dad got transferred out here."
"What's he do?" asked Jude as he watched Alex.
"He's a Deputy U.S. Marshal Criminal Investigator. He leads a national task force in capturing escaped high level convicts or catching them the first time."
"Whats your other dad do?" asked Jude as he took a drink of water.
"He had just finished his ER Residency a hospital in Virginia Beach. He thinks it will be a fresh start with starting an Attending position at a new hospital out here" replied Alex then he took a bite of a salad he had in front of him on the table.
The trio finished eating then left the cafeteria. As they exited into the hallway, they turned a corner as Jeremy slammed into Alex with his right elbow going into Alex's sternum. Alex went flying back and landed on his back.
"You aren't so tough now are you" smarted Jeremy as he looked down at Alex who was now holding his chest trying to sit up. Jude fell to one knee and helped Alex up but Alex was having a hard time breathing. Jude helped him over to a bench and sat down as Alex put his other hand on his chest.
"Hey is he okay?" asked Jeremy with a look of concern on his face.
"Get the school nurse!" yelled Taylor as she stepped over and slapped Jeremy across the face.
Alex point his head down as he pulled a bandana out of his left back pocket and put it over his mouth as he started coughing. After a few moments Alex coughing stopped and moved the bandana from his mouth and there was a few spots of blood. The school nurse came around the corner and found the trio.
"What happened?"
"Jeremy hit him with his elbow in the chest" said Taylor.
She sat down next to Alex and asked, "what hurts?"
"His chest" replied Jude. Alex looked up and started moving his hands.
"What is the problem?" asked the nurse again as she did not understand what Alex was doing. Alex opened his eyes and looked at the nurse then pulled down the top of his shirt to reveal a large scare along his sternum.
