Amy felt Micheals nose crack under the impact of her tiny fist. he stumbled backwards, blood dripping off his face. "you monster!" Micheal cried
"if you hand't have pissed me off that wouldn't have happend." she replied coldly.

Micheal was a big kid, and the neighboorhood bully. Amy was the only person in the world who scared him, but he annoyed her anyway.

Amy on the hand was small for her age, with curly black hair that tumbled over her sholders and chocolate brown skin that shows her indian heratage. She HATED Micheal, and he gave that hate right back.

"My fathers gonna kill you!" was all Micheal could think of saying. "yeah right, like to see him try, could get front page: 15 year old kid breaks bikers limbs."

"yeah very funny." snorted Micheal. "Tis' actually." came the light- haerted giggling voice of Jade O' conelly, Amy's best friend.

Jade had blonde hair, that she kept in a pixie cut, and playful green eyes. she was sarcastic and tough as nails. Sha had to be, she was Amys best friend. Thier favourite pastime is egging ms. Tipsy's car.

"Piss off Jade." Micheal let his mop of blonde hair fall infront of his face. "So Jade, should i finish him, or lethim live." said Amy, brandishing her knuckles.
"I think we've got bigger fish to fry, Amy, literaly. Mum wants us to fier up the BBQ and cook the salmon. If we do well, we get the leftovers."
"Sweet."

"You guys have to eat leftovers?" Amy turned to face the voice. Micheal still hadn't shut his cake hole.

Jade sighed. "Come on, Amy, lets blow this joint." together they set off down the footpath.

Jade's property was 10 accers, and Amys 12, so they had plenty of room to play. usually, if they did somthing wrong, it would be 3-5 days before any-one found out.

they knew every knook and cranny in either property. they were the only ones who bothered searching.

"Girls girls, no trouble
getting here, I suppose?" came the sharp voice of mrs. O'connelly. the girls' smiles faded and suddenlly thier plain white anx black shoes became verry interesting.

Kathrine O'connelly was an intimidating woman, with her ash brown hair tall legs and sharp fetures. this is were Jade got all her attatude.

"Do I really want to know?" she asked. she got know reply " Can't her you!" Amy and Jade jumped. "No Mum, you really don't." jade said for the both of them.
"well then, you better cook really wellif you're getting any dinner tonight." she turned on her heel and left them standing in the doorway.

what a lovely way to start the afternoon.

"I'll get the tongs, oil and salmon, you get the BBQ up amd running." Amy told Jade.
"Ok, but get a warm sponge too, it will need a wipe down." Jade replied.

Amy padded past the living room and into the kitchen. there to greet her was kathrine. There to greet her was kathrine. she diddnt look happy.

"Chop chop Amy, dont have long
before my husbands boss gets here and I want the place sparkling!"
" Yes kathrine!" Amy chimed as she bustled to the pantry.

When the first peice of salmon hit the flat plate and began sizzling, they heard a familier voice behind them. Hello girls!" the turned to see the smiling face of Daniel o'connelly.

Dan had a mop of blond hair that was never combed properly. he had ink curling up his arms and worked for a major bank. Amy had never seen him without a smile on his face.

"Dad!" Jade exclaimed, rushing to hug him. "Your home early!"
"well, my boss would have my head if I left all the work to my wife and dauter, wouldn't she?" he replied chuckling. "hand me those tongs, you and Amy set the table."

Together the worked, and soon the place was shining from not- exactly- polished veranda floor to their makshift sun-kist roof. The wooden table they were eating on was set with blue ceramic plates and cups topped with green woven place- mats Dan gave kathrine for her birthday.

"Hey Jade, could you run inside and get ya old man a plate to put the salmon on?" Dan asked, and Jade wisked away leaving Amy and Dan on their own.

"So what happend today, any major fights?" by 'major fights' Dan ment 'did you kill/ put anyone on life support today?'
"nah, think Micheals got a broken node though." sighed Amy.

Pretty soon, they heard a knock at the door."oh shit," Dan said. "I'd better go change." So the lovely (cough cough bullshit cough cough) guests were greeted by kathrine.

Dan's boss was a tall, slim woman, with dark brown hair and a pet hate for sloppy uniform and sassing your bosses. Thank the gods she wasn't an army officer, otherwise she'd be the most hated person in the biz. Her husband was six inches taller than she was, standing at six foot six with close-croped black hair that he kept in a buzz cut. He made a suit look casual, while his wife in a red dress and high heels looked like she was going to dine with the queen.

Exept, when Amy walked in to meet them, the person she really focused on was their son.

He was tall, about five foot seven, with black hair that fell down to his jawline, framing startling blue eyes and soft features.

"Hi," he held out his hand. "I'm James." Amy shook and he smiled at her. She caught her breath.

"So, Genaveive, Max, would you like a seet?" Dan said, now changed into crisp white tee-shirt, grey slacks and a navey tie, pulled out two chairs in the living room table and gestured to the figures in the doorway.

Dans boss steped inside. "Yes please Dan, I'm awfully hungry, when's dinner ready?"
"Yes when's dinner ready?" their son asked, his blue eyes dancing eagerly.

"shut up, James," his father told him
"what, I was just asking a question!"

Dan chuckled. "Don't get your knickers in a knot, it'll be ten to twety minutes, max."
"Yes, and in the meentime, Jade and Amy will show you around the property." said Katherine.

"Wait, we will?" Jade said, testing her mothers patience.
"Yes Jade, you will."
