I wake up again, and the night has fallen. Clear cool moonlight falls through the window beside my bed. Again, the mystery beeping sound rings loudly and I can't seem to figure out where it comes from. All of a sudden, I feel like I'm floating on air. Light as could be; feeling alright again.  After a moment of hesitation, I push the covers on my bed down to my feet and swing my entirely bare legs legs over the side. The floor was cold and hard, my barefeet and toes twitch with the feeling of the uneasiness. My legs stumble and gave away easily the second I lift myself up, but I caught myself and clung to the bed, my hands behind me. Long blonde hair that could easily reach my stomach hung in my face as I stared at the floor. I stayed like that for a while, not knowing what to do, waiting to get my balance.

I stayed like that for what seemed like hours, the blood rushing to my head for quite some time. Finally, I stood up, and took a few steps forward, taking up all my effort. Only a few steps away from the wide open door, I felt a tug at my side. Some sort or tube ran from me to a rolling staff. I pulled it towards me, tugged at it for a moment, and eventually gave up deciding to take it with me. I realized then that I was wearing some sort of gown, blue with tiny white dots, starting at my neck and ending short at mid-thigh.

Cool air hit me intantly as I entered the hallway, the crispness giving me goosbumps all the way down my legs. I looked left and right and seeing that there was no one, I continued down the hall. All was deadly silent, and I felt like the only person in the world. The scent of cleanliness and stiffness wafted all around and didn't seem to leave me. I wandered around aimlessly for a while longer, eventually stopping at some sort of billboard covered with kid's art pictures and the words "Children believe that cancer will be beaten" hung in brightly coloured letters all over the wall. I stared at the scribbles of crayons, then moved onward in my expodition. I turned and looked into some of the other rooms with open doors and saw people sleeping. An old man with a nearly bald head, a person just my age with a few body casts. Beeping in every one of the rooms. Eventually I stumbled upon some sort of reception desk, a still warm cup of coffee sitting right on the top, files scattered here and there. Footsteps came out from the back and I quickly dashed behind a corner, pulling my staff along with me. A woman came out and sat down at the desk, sipping the coffee. I don't exactly know why I hid so quickly, but I did know I didn't want my wanderings to be cut short. I made my way back around another corner, and all of a sudden found myself back in my room. I stood infront of the mirror and saw myself for the first time. Dark blonde hair with various hues of brown streaks the colour of light bouncing off the water. Deep light blue eyes seemingly painted on my face, woodsy arched brown eyebrows and long dark eyelashes. Smooth creamy cheeks and a milky white throught. Pictures scattered around on window ledges and bedside tables intruiged me. Pictures of me and a bunch of friends at a brightly lit party, another of a girl and me posing with the camera on an outstretched arm.

After my hour or two or wandering, I felt like sleeping once more, and I stepped lightly back into the bed and fell on my side asleep.
