[Hope of morning ]
When the hope of morning starts to fade in me
I don't let the darkness have its way with me
And the hope of morning makes me me worth the fight
I will not be giving in tonight[~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~]
The first thing that came to my mind when opened my eyes, was how soft the clouds looked, and how blue the sky was.
But then something came dawning upon me: Where was I?
I could blink, and that's about it, so I blinked. Confused by the fact that my head seemed to be the only thing that worked properly, since I couldn't feel my, legs nor my arms.
As a matter of fact I couldn't feel anything but the soft wind caressing my cheek.
It felt weird, like my head was disconnected from my body.
Suddenly my subconscious remembered that my body needed oxygen and I opened my mouth, trying to take a breath.
Needless to say, I failed.
How can one even fail at breathing?!
It was like my lungs refused to work properly, and I could feel the lack of oxygen take it's toll on my body.
Soon I started to panic, when I came to my senses and actually understood that I couldn't breathe.
Just as I saw black dots of light invade my sight, my body jerked forward, and I managed to take a deep breath as I could feel the blood flowing through every vein in my body.
I sat up straight, and my hands quickly traveled up to support my throbbing head.
As soon as I felt content that it wouldn't suddenly fall off my neck, I stood up, and looked around.
I was in the middle of a green field, the grass was softly waving in the breeze that coiled it's way through the air currents.
To my left, very far away, there was a forrest, dark and deep, giving off a rather cozy feeling.
To my right, was even more greens, and I could barely see the edge of it.
I carefully turned around, not knowing if my body would fail me again, and saw a village.
Or rather the gates to a village.
I was happy, because I'd began to feel very lonely, in this beautiful silent scenery.
I couldn't remember last time I'd seen other human beings, but the more I thought of it, the more certain I became of one thing:
I couldn't remember anything at all.
Words like home, friends and family echoed through my empty head.
Though I couldn't seem to recall any memories of my own friends, nor family. I actually couldn't even remember where I came from....
Heck, I didn't even remember my name.
I stared down at my hands, they were average sized, slender, but with many calluses, and white scarred areas on my knuckles.
I tried to get a better picture of myself as I craned my neck and observed what I wore.
It was all pretty simple, I had some kind of black tights that stopped a bit above my knees, and over those I wore something that looked like a pair of loose fitting military pants in different shades of blue.
It was put together by two black bands that crossed each other under my belly, forming an 'x'.
My torso was clothed in a sports bra, I knew, because I could feel it, and on top of that, a black tank top, covered by a crop top.
It was like a cut off T-shirt, and it was the same color as the fabric of my pants.
On the middle of my upper right arm there was a black band, but thinner than the one around my waist.
Below that, thinner threads made the shapes of a fishnet that surrounded my arm, and it didn't stop until it reached my wrist.
Almost like an arm warmer, but more useless, since the wind blew right through it. That made me wonder if had any other hidden qualities, or if it was just decoration.
I moved my fingers up towards my hair, where I felt long soft waves coil their way down towards my shoulders where they stopped.
I pulled one of the smooth curls down, and discovered an odd, light blue shade, that gleamed nicely in the sunlight.
When I let it go, it sprung back up with surprising elasticity, like one of those coiling metal springs in mattresses.
I lightly touched my face, but without something to reflect my image of, I had no idea what my face looked like.
A sudden rush of energy surged through me, and after discovering the outer bit of myself, my legs were itching for a run.
With a wide grin spreading over my face, I broke out in a sprint across the field.
To my surprise, I was almost inhumanly quick. My mind seemed to have basic knowledge of what 'normal' meant, and this was nowhere near it.
I could feel the grass straws whip against my feet, as the weird sandals I was wearing were open by the toes.
It felt so great to move around, and getting more used to my body. A huge difference from when I woke up.
Thinking of that made me slow down abruptly, but it seemed like my mind couldn't concentrate on two things at the same time.
So without any direct control my feet tangled themselves into each other, and gave my little adventure an abrupt stop as I fell over.
I almost landed on my face, but thanks to the super quick reflexes I didn't know I had, my hands shot out in front of me, protecting my face from getting squished.
I let out a gasp as I had to sit down to calm my racing heart.
I put a shaky hand over my chest, where I could feel my heart pounding strongly.
It made me incredibly happy for some reason, and I'd never felt as alive as I did now.
If course, I couldn't be sure if I even had been alive before.
I decided to ignore the hollow feeling thar brewed inside of me, and concentrated instead on the feeling of being here and now.
"It seems like multi tasking isn't my strongest side" I suddenly spoke up, but then covered my mouth with my hands.
It sounded so weird, because that was the first time I ever heard my voice.
The wickedness in it all made me laugh out loud, this time I didn't stop myself.
My laugh sounded like the chime of bells, loud and clear.
I liked it. It felt great.
I decided that I wanted to do it more, but then it wouldn't be by myself.
As I stood up with new energy, that became a little mental goal of mine.
I would find out who I was, I would find my place, and I would find friends.
I slowly turned my head towards the gates, and smiled, content with myself.
