2. The Village

The closer I wandered towards the gates, the more they seemed to grow in front of me.

Soon enough I stood right in front of it, gaping like a guppy.

I'm not sure I knew what a guppy was, but apparently my subconscious did.

Suddenly I heard a voice from above.

"You there! Identify yourself!"

I spun around, my eyes darting from right to left, trying to find the source of the noise.

"Up here" The voice called again, and I tilted my head as I spotted a guard on top of the gate.

I squinted my eyes, but I couldn't make out a face, or hear him properly.

"What'd you say?" I called back up.

"Identify yourself! What are your business in the leaf village?"

I could hear him now, but I didn't know what to answer.

"What?!" I yelled, stalling for time.

Allright, so this was the leaf village, and what was my business here?

As far as I knew, I came here because I just woke up from something that seemed like an eternal slumber, and I had no memories from my past nor did I know who I were.

Though I didn't plan on saying that, because even to me, it sounded insane.

The guard guy, let's name him Tim for now, was fed up with my lack of knowledge, and in a poof he suddenly stood beside me.

And then I mean literally a poof.
One second he was standing on the gate wall, and the next, a cloud of smoke appeared beside me, and revealed Tim the guard guy.

He looked so much scarier up close.

"Well, state your name and businesses or I'll have to ask you to leave" He decided, and I had no idea what to answer.

"Well, uhm... I'm... "

Before I could answer, he raised an eyebrow and glanced down at me suspiciously.

"Hey do I know you from somewhere?" He asked, and he didn't sound very friendly.

Oh my God. What if I was a villain of this village? What if I'd done some super bad things!?

If so, maybe he'd put me in jail!

I couldn't deal with that! I had to get to know more about myself!

"Uhm.. No. Nope. Don't think so. Sorry" I said quickly, and stepped back, trying to find a way to get over the wall.

"Yes I do! But you can't be here!" Tim suddenly exclaimed.

'Oh shit' I thought 'Maybe I am a criminal after all.

He made an attempt to grab my arm, but I dodged quickly.

"Stop right there!"

But before anyone could stop me, I did the only thing I knew my body was physically able to do:

I ran.

And no, I didn't run away.
Instead of doing what any sane person would do, I ran straight towards the wall.
