Chapter 5 - Sudden Change

Elliot at the sideeeee.

"Good morning class. As you can see that your exams are coming soon, I would be pairing you up in an upcoming project to improve your language," said Miss Jones in a boring tone.

"When your names are being called, please move to your partners. First off we have..."

"Michael and Chloe"

"Abigail and Drew"

"Hayley and...." she read while checking her list of names, "Elliot!"

I breathed a sigh of relief as soon as I knew who my partner was. Actually, I don't know much about Elliot. All I know is that he hangs around with the cool guys like Jake, Blake and their gangs. But one thing I know for sure is that he's not a playboy like them. Snapping out of my thoughts, I smiled as he made his way towards me.

"Hey, so your house or mine?" he asked.

"Yours, some of my relatives are coming over and I don't want them to disturb" I replied.

"I'll pick you up at the carpark after school...and I'll text you" he said as he made his way back to his table.

The bell rang and I made my way towards my locker. Opening it, I checked my timetable.
Next period : Geography
I took some Geography books and slammed my locker door. As I turned around, I banged into a wall, or rather someone's chest. All my books were scattered on the ground.

Then I heard a low voice said," Watch where you're going, nerd."

"It's not my fault that you banged into me because you were looking at your phone!" I practically yelled at him.

Then I realised we had caught the attention of everybody as they were staring at us. That guy locked his phone and put it in his pocket then he looked up at me and his gaze met mine. I immediately knew who he was. Jake.

"I don't care who you are or what you think you are but who are you to talk to me like that!?" he said through gritted teeth.

I rolled my eyes and stepped on his feet. Hard. Then I picked up my books and walked away.

Just great, this morning he's so nice and now he's acting like a douchebag. How nice. I thought to myself and made my way towards the classroom.

I realised that the class had started and I stood outside the class waiting for Mr Wiles to finish talking before I interrupt the class. Just then, Jake made his way and stood beside me. Mr Wiles finally noticed our existence.

He cleared his throat and said," Ahh, how nice how of you to join us, Miss Morgan and Mr Henderson."

He continued," Because it's the first time you're late, I'll let you off. But I hope you would be punctual next time. Is that okay with you, Miss Morgan?"

I nodded and quickly went to my seat.

I heard him say sternly," Mr Henderson, this is not the first time you are late, I will let you off. But the next time you come in late, you are going to get detention."

Finishing off his sentence, he went back to his desk and continued teaching.

30 minutes passed
45 minutes passed
1 hour passed
Yay! 30 minutes more! How great. I thought to myself sarcastically.

Finally after what seemed like forever, the bell rang. I went to my locker and kept my books. Then I went to the cafeteria. I saw Alice queuing up and I joined her in the queue.

"So how's life?" she asked randomly trying to start a conversation.

I shrugged and reply," nothing much, same old boring life except that I have an English project with Elliot and I'm going to his house later and something with douchebag."

"Whoa whoa you mean Elliot James, Mr popular?" she asked excitedly.

"uhh, yeah. He's not that popular right? He just hangs out with the popular group of people." I said like it is no big deal.

"Yeah, but still." she said is a 'duh' tone.

"Oh by the way who's douchebag?" she asked.

I told her everything that happened before Geography. And after that it was our turn to get food.

"Hi! I would like a chicken sandwich and a Diet Coke please." I said to the lunch lady.

"That would be $6.50" she said in a bored tone. I gave her my money and she handed me my food.

I went to our usual lunch table and joined Alice and our group of friends. Like other schools, the most popular people seat in the middle and the nerds at the side.

i tried to take a fry from Jordan but he slapped my hand and I fake pouted.

"Nobody touches my fries." he said in a protective tone. I laughed in response.

Okay, so let me introduce them.
Alice is my best friend and so are they.

First off we have Hannah. She's really pretty and she has long dark brown hair. She has a boyfriend and his name is Jayden.

Jayden has green eyes and he has dark brown hair too. He loves Hannah. And Hannah loves him. Such lovebirds.

Then we have Jordan, he's the one that makes us laugh most of the time as he cracks jokes very often.

The bell rang and I hurriedly finished my lunch.
