Courage to love

To love, is an awfully big adventure // Chapter 6

I stood up and stretch my arms upwards, arching my back backwards. It is like a huge weight is lifted off my back and I feel so much more comfortable now. So comfortable that I nearly forgotten the maybe speechless, slightly stunned guy sitting on the bench.

From the corner of my eyes, i saw him standing up, walking towards me. Then using both hands to hold my shoulders and turned me to face him. With his hands still lingering on my shoulders arch and eyes looking into mine, he said

"I didn't know you felt this way about me. Ave, it has been 4 years. Why didn't you tell me earlier? Wait, why am I blaming you, when I am the same. Just when I thought I'm going to give up..."

I was sort of in a comfy sort of dazed so I did not understand what he meant from what he says. "Huh? I... don't get it?"  I smiled apologetically.

He sighs, "What I'm trying to tell you is that I like you too Ave, more than you can ever imagine. My dreams are often about being with you and my nightmares are usually about losing you. I know you may not believe—"

 I guess i understood how he felt for I felt the same; the mere thought of losing someone is a drastic blow to the heart, for the first time. "I believe you" I interrupted. Though I could not believe what he just said I am just hoping that, if it's a dream I never want to wake up again. "Thank you."

Immediately after my 'thank you', he pulled me in for a tight embrace. I can hear his racing heartbeat from leaning against his chest, his chin lying on my shoulders while his head leaning against mine and when his arms tighten further around me, I found it.

The feeling of home.

The world seemed to stop rotating, probably the longest and most heartfelt moment and everything is still for that few minutes. When things could not get anymore better, the wind softly blew into my ears. Maybe I am imagining it, maybe I am not, but it seems to say the words, "I love you, Ave".

And at that point of time, everything just seems to fall into place. It was perfect.
