Love

As I watched her kick her father, I felt a sense of pride, that she was the mother of my children. And I guess Braun was Brays greatest creation, and with that I owe him my gratitude. In his own way he loved Melissa. Her mother hugged her, taking our daughter into her arms, "I have a lot of lost time to make up to you," she said to Melissa. I let the women talk as I walked over to Braun, Luke, and Erick, Dean and Seth followed me, "Braun, thank you," Braun nodded, "as she said, you are all free to do what you will, I know things haven't been the best between all of us, but you are all her family, so that makes you part of mine as well."
She walked over to us, her hand slipping into mine, I leaned down, kissing her, my love for this woman growing with each passing day. Luke spoke up and said, "For Bray we will do as you ask Melissa, he tried to change there at the end."
"It's ok Luke, what's important is that we continue to change this family. This is a new beginning for us all."
"What about father?" Erick asked.
"Leave him," she said, "he will understand in time what love was like, and when he is ready to accept that, he will come around."
Braun said, "I will stay and keep him in line, it's what Bray would've wanted."
"We will stay with you then," Luke and Erick said.
"Thank you, all of you," I said.

As we walked away, she looked back one final time, smiling, that it was over. We got into the car, Hope, babbling in the back, and drove off. When we pulled into the driveway, it was well after midnight, Melissa and Hope were sound asleep. I carried Hope in first, then came back out for Melissa. As I picked her up, her eyes opened, "Just sleep sweetheart, we're home." She nestled against my chest, "I love you," she murmured.
"I love you too." I laid her on our bed, laying down beside her, pulling her into me. She snuggled into my chest, "Keep your hands where I can see them mister," she said sleepily.
"And you call me, Mr. Horny Man."
"I know you too well," she said, her hand sliding down my chest.
"Go to sleep woman, you need to rest for our little one."
"But I'm not tired now, and I thought we needed more practice babe."
"You're stubborn as all hell."
"So are you," she said, "and hot as hell, and horny as hell," she said giggling into my chest.
"Go to sleep woman."
And with that, I heard her softly moan, her breathing evening out. I'm just happy that she and our daughter are safe.
