Valentine felt sharp pains in.... Everywhere. The most on his face, which felt wet still. Eyes closed he tried to move but ached to much to do so. "damn..." the blond boxer moaned as a new sharp pain started by his forehead. Valentine shot open his eyes to see a confused brunette with a washcloth in hand. She frowned. "not the face I was expecting." He groaned sitting up.
The girl rolled her eyes and continued to clear the blood away from his forehead. She didn't say anything. "No comment?" valentine asked again, looking around the room. It was a simple room, and a cozy one. He seemed to be in the living room. Valentine looked back at the girl, "your not part of that Romano family are you?"
"Idiot. You'd be dead if I was part of them." she snapped in a cold tone.
"... Harsh for someone cleaning my wounds... How long was I out?" he asked, wincing as she used a new cloth without being gentle. She didn't respond at first.
"You've been out since midnight. Ten hours. I'm lucky The Romano family hasn't found you or me." she said in the same tone as before.
Valentine blinked, "I've been out for ten hours and your just cleaning my cuts now?" he snapped.
"This isn't the movies, I don't know what to do with a man on the run who pops into my car on the verge of death, staining my back seats with his blood!" she hissed, stepping away as she shot the cloth at his face before storming into another room" not to mention that helping you puts me on the hotlist for the RoLmano Family!!" she yelled, sounding a bit on the scared side.
Valentine didn't know what to say, but sit in his guilt. He tried to move but his legs didn't want to agree with him. He sighed and hoped shed walk back into the room. Speaking of which, he had no idea who this lady was and how he was going to apologize to her.
The boxer took the cloth and started to cleaned up his face, surprised at how stained it kept getting. He gently touched his nose and winced with a hiss. Broken. Figures. He sighed and tossed the cloth on the end table. "you think I'm an idiot don't you?"
"yes, you Idiot!" a snap came from the other room. Valentine chuckled, looking at the pictures on the end table. He stroked the frames gently, a small pain in his chest. "ok look, I'm going to let you spend the day here but once it becomes night your out. I suggest you leave the continent for your own good." the brunette snapped.
She trotted back in, holding a small bag of trail mix. She tossed onto his lap and glared at him. "what?" valentine asked, finally getting annoyed.
"why didn't you let yourself get killed?" the girl growled, but then suddenly realized what she had said. However Valentine finally lost his cool cocky mood.
"ok, I didn't ask for this and I did the human thing and ran for the sake of my life and my dying friends wish. I didn't ask for you to heal me, and I didn't ask for you to take me in. So if you want me out so bad, you can help me up a dump me on the street."
There was a long silence after that. The brunette twiddled her fingers in both anger and guilt as Valentine fumed in his spot, waiting to be put to the curb. ".... I didn't mean that..."
"really? If you ask me, you did." Valentine said, glaring the opposite direction of her. The brunette girl gazed at the blond for a long time, as if trying to make it better. It didn't.
"Eat your food, please. Its all I have and might be all you get." She mumbled starting to walk away. She was about to go into the kitchen again, before Valentine caught her arm. She looked back with a semi-glare.
"Sorry, death is a touchy subject." Valentine mumbled, pulling her to sit on the ground beside him. Despite her objections Valentine finally got her on the ground, sitting against the couch. Though it was obvious she wasn't happy about it. "I just want to say thank you for hiding me in your home, on your beautiful couch. Also for cleaning my wounds, even if its been ten hours since I passed out but I assume I deserve it." Valentine said with a guilty sigh.
The Brunette blinked, and turned her head to glare up at him. "Your face is going to get stuck with all that glaring you do, babe."
"My name is Lora." She hissed once more. Valentine chuckled, "and dont need to tell me your name, Valentine." Lora continued.
"Alright Lora. Thank you." He whispered, resting into the couch. Lora didn't respond, but reached into his trail mix bag and pulled out a candy. valentine chuckled. Before he could make a comment, banging came from the door. The two of them jumped.
Lora and Valentine looked at each other with the same worried look as the banging continued. "Lora Williams! We believe you have certain someone you've been holding a certain Mr. Gray out from us~" it was a more evil and smooth sadistic voice. One that teased at the tip of his tongue.
"That's... That's... " The brunette jumped off the floor as Valentine tried to figure out what in god name is going on. Lora stopped her breathing, forcing the two to pretend they weren't home.
There was a long silence...
"shoot them out."
Loud bangs went through the house, Valentine pounced on Lora just as the set of bullets went past the two. Items exploded around them. Glass shattering into bits, and cotton flying in all places. "is there a back door?!" valentine asked over the damaging sounds.
"They know better than to not secure the area, theres no way out!" she cried, hiding under The blond boxers arms. Valentine searched franticly around as the bullets kept flying through like the walls were made of paper. Screams came from the upstairs neighbor.
Lora grabbed Valentines hand and yanked him into the kitchen and under the table, pulling open a trap door. She shoved the blond into the dark hole.
"where are we?" Valentine tried to ask, but was cut off by Lora pulling him into the dark. After a few moments the bullets ceased but Heavy footsteps were above them, making the two victims hold their breaths. The brunette led them to the edge of the tunnel, leading them up a small shelter and out into the open.
The two walked into the sun light. Valentine collapsed into the grass, his wounds bleeding all over again. "underground tunnel sure came in handy." he breathed, wiping the blood off his lips. "you alright?"
The girl turned with a glare, "Do you think I'm alright? I was just shot at you idiot? What's wrong with you?" she hissed looking read to punch his guts out.
"Id like to know too..." came a smooth voice from behind them.
