She was lying there. Each time her breath escaped her rosy lips, her rising and falling chest slows down. Her father looked at her as his eyes were brimmed with tears. He grabbed his delicate daughter's hand, rubbing it near his face, whispering words as if it was only meant for her to hear."Stay strong, my darling."
A large hand touched his shoulder.
"Maurice." the voice said.
Maurice stood up as he stared into Adam's eyes, his stare taunting. "Where were you last night?"
Adam returned his stare, unnerved. "I had some business to attend to." But he lied. He was with the bimbettes last night, having fun while his dying partner was just lying motionless on the bed. One couldn't blame a man when he lost interest in someone, was what he convinced himself to overcome his conscience.
Maurice sighed as he plopped down into his seat, both hands covering his face. "Oh god, I don't know what will happen to her. I wish the dear heavens would take me instead." Adam finally found the courage to look at his wife. She looked the same but weak and pale. He knew that she wouldn't survive this stage. It was incurable.
He didn't find her beautiful. Just normal. He didn't feel any sadness, just plain pity.
He didn't love her anymore. It slowly faded away each second she was lying there. Adam cleared his throat as he fixed his tie. "I better get going, I have a meeting." Maurice didn't reply, which Adam knew it was okay to leave. Once he got out of the door, he looked right and left before slowly making his way to the bimbettes.

Gaston paced back and forth, rubbing both hands together.
"I can do this." He stopped pacing as he nodded his head before walking towards the door. He stopped again. "I can't do this."
Come on you stupid loon, just go!
Gaston sighed as he slowly knocked. Soon he heard footsteps that were becoming louder and louder. He gulped as the door slowly opened and there stood Maurice.
"Gaston," he sounded surprised, "my, what are you doing here?"
"I-I came to..." He rubbed the back of his neck as he looked down, suddenly finding some ants crawling very interesting. "You came to...?" Maurice raised an eyebrow, probing him to continue.
"I came to see Belle." He answered while Maurice just smiled. "Of course you can, lad! Come on in."
Upon hearing that, Gaston smiled brightly as he gladly entered. As soon as he went into Belle's room, his eyes immediately focused on her. In his opinion, she looked even more beautiful each day even when she was sick. He took big strides towards her as he held her hand that was cold. Tears slowly formed as he quickly wiped them away. It hurt him seeing her suffering.
"It's quite unbelievable that it's been a full month since she's in the same position huh?" Maurice entered with two cups of tea as he passed one to Gaston.
"Yea..." Gaston sighed as he took a sip of the tea. "Everytime," Maurice stared at his daughter, "I just wish she will wake up and say it's just a dream, Papa, I'm fine. She's the only reason why I'm living you know."
Gaston continued to look at Belle as he finally decided on what he should do. "Yea, I know."

He ran to the center of the woods, his hands blocking out the creepers and vines. He soon reached his destination as he paused, catching his breath. He then stood up as he looked around, greeted by just trees.
