Aiden's POV
We were all outside and ready to go. I was on my broom right next to Mad-Eye and we were getting ready to take off.
"Head for the burrows, we rendezvous there" Mad-Eye started. "On the count of three! One... Two... Three!" At that, we all took off into the sky but as soon as we reached the clouds there was lightning like flashes of green and yellow coming from them. We flew into the cloud and all I could see was death eaters attacking us left right and centre.
"Ambush!" I heard someone cry but I was too focused on avoiding getting hit to tell who. I tried to avoid getting hit while still staying close to Mad-Eye. I started to fire back and hit a few before Mad-Eye and I were surrounded. He started to fire at them same as me, then I saw a green flash come right at me and I didn't have time to do anything about it. It was about to hit me before Mad-Eye got in the way and died in front of me. Everything seemed to slow down and I saw the light go out in his good eye and his fake one stopped moving. I saw him go limp and fall from his broom and out of sight below the clouds.
"Noooooo!" I screamed as he fell and I let a single tear fall from my eye and down my cheek following the same path as he did, down and out of sight. After that everything seemed to speed up and I realized I was still being fired at. I ducked and flew out of their circle around me and towards where we were going. I flew dodging the spells as the pay flew past me and forwards. Soon enough I felt something hit my left leg and it was excruciating. I screamed in agony and tried to keep myself upright. I continued to fly until I was where I was at the safe house I was going to. I quickly hobbled to the port key and grabbed it. All of a sudden I was at the burrow and I promptly fell into a puddle. This made my leg sting even more and I could feel the blood oozing from it and into the puddle. I groaned loudly and used all the strength I had left to use my arms to pull myself from the puddle and into the mud on the edge. I laid my head down and soon drifted off, the pain in my leg only growing the more I drifted. I heard my name called but I couldn't bring ,used to say anything as I became unconscious.
Third person POV
At the burrow Hagrid, Harry, Remus, George, Kingsley, Hermione, Bill, Fleur, Tonks, Ron, Arthur, and Fred were all in the living room talking and looking at George on the couch with his bleeding ear.
"How're you feelin' Georgey? Fred asked his injured brother, concern lacing his voice.
"Saint-like," he responded.
"Come again?" Fred said confused.
"Saint-like, I'm holy. I'm holy Fred, get it?" He said pointing to his mangled ear.
"The whole wide world of ear-related humour and you go for 'I'm holy'. That's pathetic." Fred laughed a bit.
"Reckon I'm still better looking than you." George retorted. After a minute of silence, Bill stepped forward with a grim look on his face.
"Mad Eye's dead." Shock and despair shadowed everyone's faces as he said this. "He and Aiden were surrounded and he went down, I didn't see her get out... Didn't stand a chance." He said gloomily. George was already in pain but hearing that Aiden might not have made it out made him feel like his heart was just ripped out of his chest. He let a few silent tears slip from his already tired eyes and let the lids droop and he fell into a dreamless sleep. Just after they heard another arrive. Remus and Kingsley ran out to see who it was. When they didn't immediately see anyone they heard someone groan and splashing coming from somewhere in the field in front of them. They began to frantically search for whoever made the noise. Remus soon spotted Aiden laying just outside of a large puddle, her broom just next to her.
"Aiden!" He yelled and ran over to her. "Kingsley, over here!" He called him over while he quickly looked her over. He scooped her up in his arms bridal style as Kingsley came into view.
"We need to treat her, she's losing blood," Remus said and they began to make their way quickly to the burrow. Kingsley came through the door first and held it open for Remus as he carried her limp body in. He placed her on the other couch and began to treat her leg. All the commotion and chatter quickly woke George and he realized that he was right in front of Aiden. He tried to sit up and get closer to her but Molly and Fred were holding him down.
"You need to rest, just lay down. They'll take care of her," Molly tried to reason with him but he continued to struggle. Shortly after he began to feel dizzy and decided to stop and just watch. He had tears welling in his eyes as he saw Remus step back and look at his handy work. Her leg was all healed up and all that was left was a closed jagged wound. They wrapped it and cleaned her up. George laid there the whole time watching, even when they moved on and were cleaning and wrapping his head up too.
"She'll be fine George," Molly said as she wrapped his head in gauze after finishing cleaning the dried blood off his neck and hair.
"How do you know?" He asked looking up at his mother.
"Because she always is, and she always will be. She wouldn't leave you, you mean too much to her," Molly said giving George some piece of mind and he looked back at her sleeping form while his mother finished bandaging his head.
