I never thought it would be this way,
I had dreams,
I saw the stars,
I had happiness,
But now?
I have nightmares,
I have scars,
All I feel is loneliness.
If someone told me I would be this way,
I would've made the change sooner,
Why me?
Why did I have to deal with this?
The emotional pain?
The verbal abuse?
Some days I just wish,
That I could have my life,
The life my younger self have always dreamed of.
