BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I slapped my alarm clock and it stopped. I blinked a couple of times to get my eyes adjusted, then pushed myself up in my bed. I heard a soft knock on my door as I jumped out of bed.

"Come in!"

The door opened to reveal a very handsome looking Jake. He had blue jeans on with a dark grey t-shirt. I looked down at what I was wearing and a blush arose on my face. I was wearing one of my dad's oversized t-shirts and that's it. "Eek get out, I'm gonna get ready and change!" I squealed.

Jake chuckled, "Ok babe."

As soon as the door closed I jumped into the shower. When I was done I wrapped myself in my warm towel. I walked to my dresser and shuffled through all my tops, until I found a black strapless shirt. I put on my "undergarments", then the shirt, and on bottom I put on my blue short-shorts. I tried to curl my hair fast, but when your hair is not completely dry it's kind of hard. Once I was done I plopped on a black sparkly headband and looked at my appearance. Pretty good, I thought smiling.

Before running downstairs I applied mascara and a small coat of red lipstick. I dashed downstairs and accidently whacked into Ashton, falling back.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry Cheyenne!" Ashton said helping me back up.

"It's all good Ashton."

"Are you sure you are ok? Do you need some water? Any pain killer? Cheyenne?"

"Whoa slow down Ash! I'm perfectly fine!" I yelled.

"Ok, calm down! Don't eat me alive!" he said as I punched him on the shoulder.

I glared at him and went into the kitchen to find Jake sitting their reading the newspaper.

"Hey Jake!" I said giving him a hug.

"Hey beautiful," he said giving me a kiss on the cheek. I smiled and he returned it, but then it became a frown.

"What?"

"I'm leaving today you know."

"Oh," I frowned and pushed out of his hug. "What time?"

"One-thirty."

"Ok, well we still have until then!" I said.

He pulled me into a hug and started pulling me towards the door. "Where are we going?" He didn't answer me though just grabbed the car keys and pushed me out the door. When we got to the car I asked him again, but he still didn't say anything. I got in the car and looked out the window. He refused to talk; well you know what two can play at that game. I turned the music all the way up and again turned to look out at the magical Tennessee that I loved.

"Ok we're here, Chey," I heard Jake say. I didn't say anything and just got out of the car.

"Chey?" I ignore him again and just walk ahead until I feel arms wrap around me holding me in place. Jake turned me around so I was facing him then kissed my cheek. "Chey don't be mad. I love you."

I melted into his embrace as those three words were said, "I love you too, Jake."

He kissed me and then took my hand and guided me to the building. I looked up at the massive auditorium and gasped. "You...what?" We were at the Ryman Auditorium where plays were preformed and where singers had concerts. I looked around and there were like no cars.

"Where is everyone?" Silence. "Jake explain?!"

"Ok, my dad had this cool roommate in college and they've been best friends ever since they met. Well his friend lives here and kind of, um, owns the place–which is totally crazy–but he does. He gave me the keys and said we could play around here, which is also completely crazy, but hey I'm not complaining," Jake rambled.

I squealed, "Oh my gosh! This is so amazing Jake, thank you so much!"

"We haven't even been inside yet, darling."

"Well let's go! Come on Jake! Come on!" I said dragging him to the doors.

"Ok hold on, hold on," he chuckled.

He took out the keys from is jean pocket. When we took a step in, we both looked around in awe. It was beautiful. The brown seats were in a half circle looking towards the stage. The stage was huge and it was a gold-ish color. The auditorium had 4 windows that could be closed for a darker setting. Overall, it was very magnificent. Jake took my hand and we ran down to the stage through a "secret" door. When we got to the stage, Jake told me to wait here, then left. I looked around and smiled to myself, I really did have the best boyfriend ever. Jake returned with a picnic basket and a blanket.

"Care for lunch?" I smiled and nodded my head.

Jake laid the blanket out then took out the food in the basket. He brought turkey sandwiches with kettle cooked chips, two root beers, and for dessert he brought one big slice of chocolate cake. We ate and talked for what seemed like hours. As we talked, I think we both grew a little sad because we knew he had to leave.

"Let's get going, you're coming to the airport with me right?" Jake said.

"Of course," I mumbled giving him a sad smile. We packed up our stuff and Jake locked the place up and we headed to the airport.

"So did you have fun this week, Cheyenne?"

"It was the best week and a half ever. Did you have fun, Jake?"

"Of course. I mean even if we did nothing all week and we just cuddled or talked it would have been fun. Whenever I'm with you I'm happy," Jake smiled. He pulled up into a parking spot in the airport and then gave me the keys. We walked hand-in-hand towards the airport entrance.

"Flight 35 will start boarding in thirty minutes," we heard over the intercom.

As we got to Jake's gate, he turned to me and I started to cry.

"Oh Cheyenne, don't cry," Jake hugged me. We stayed in the hug for awhile, but I knew he had to go. "I have to go darling, but I'll call you, text you, Skype you, email you, and everything everyday. I promise. I love you and I always will."

I controlled my crying and gave him a tight hug before stepping back. "I love you, Jake. See you soon."

"See you soon, Chey," and with that he gave me a big kiss. As if it was the first kiss we have ever had, fireworks went off in my head and I felt dizzy when he pulled away. He turned to leave, but I pulled him back for one slower passionate kiss. Then, he was gone–back to his hometown–for the rest of summer. I left shortly after trying to control my jumbled up thoughts. Before driving tears started to pour out, but I wiped them away refusing to cry.

When I got home, my parents and Ashton knew I was sad so they let me be. I ran up to my room and looked at the picture of me and Jake by the beach. I heard a soft knock on the door.

"Come in," I choked out. Ashton peeked his head in before coming in and closing the door. He sat on my bed and gave me a big hug.

"You ok, Chey?" he asked me.

"It's just hard to say goodbye," I cried.

"You'll be with him again before you know it."

"I guess."

"Goodbyes are hard, but everyone has to say them at some point in their life. You know what's good about goodbyes?"

"What?"

"It makes it that much sweeter when you get to say hello again," Ashton said before getting up and leaving.
