Chapter 3: Howling in darkness

August 21, 2016 2:00pm in bunker.
-Hey guys did you find any medicine for the baby?- Rose and Elizabeth asked worried.
-Nope- Edgar and I said while nodding our heads.
-Why didn't you find anything?- Johnny asked.
-Well as we were searching for medicine we heard a some sort of cry for help- We explained.
-And then we started to investigate, the sound was coming from and who or what was making that sound- We explained.
-What do you mean about who or WHAT was making that sound?- Elizabeth asked worried.
-We had the chance to find where the sound came from, it was in an abandon store, and while I kept watch at the entrance of the store Jimmy searched the area- Edgar explained.
-While he was searching someone or somethings were chasing him, he told me to run and then I saw them, those eyes, those glowing purple eyes, that gazed at me, through my deepest worst fears, nightmares and memories- Edgar explained petrified by remembering that moment.
-Wow bro that was deep- I said worried.
-So those things that you just explained right now are out there right at this very moment?!- Elizabeth yelled at us while pointing outside.
-Yes- Edgar and I answered like if we were answering at our mother.

6:00pm in the bunker.
-Guys I think the baby won't make it- Rose said while crying.
-Let's see our options; well first we can go back to the city and search for medicine again, or we can just witness the death of this child and go on a search tomorrow in the morning- Johnny explained.
-We cannot let this baby die, it's a human being just like us- Natasha said worried.
-Okay then it's settled Jimmy and I will go outside we will leave you guys a walkie talkie and then we can be in touch, deal?- Johnny explained.
-Ok- We all responded.

6:30pm outside the bunker.
-Ok, before I think we should plan our strategy- Johnny explained.
-Ok- I said.
-I think we should go to the medical center in the plaza of the city- Johnny explained.
-Roger that- I said.

Third person narration Jimmy:

Jimmy and Johnny had to pass through Downtown L.A., so they had to pass near the abandon store that was full of those purple eyed monsters.

First person narration Jimmy:

-Are you sure that we have to go to the medical center- I asked.
-It's the only logical place to go- Johnny answered.
-Ok then, did you brought your gun?- I asked.
-Yeah, why?- Johnny said.
-Because we're gonna need it- I said confidently and worried.

7:30pm in Downtown L.A.
As we were crossing through downtown I saw again the abandon store and pointed where so that Johnny could see where it was. As I pointed to where the store was, I heard growls and snarls coming from the depths of darkness from the store. Johnny and I felt fear in a scale of 1 to 10 I think we were at 10. Imagine some vicious creatures lurking through the shadows, just watching you, waiting to kill you.

-Dude, let's get out of here- I said scared and trembling.
-What are we waiting for, let's go before those things eat us or something- Johnny said scared and trembling as well.

7:50pm leaving Downtown L.A.
As we were leaving Downtown we heard some gunshots, they sounded pretty close so we went directly to the medical center in full stealth mode.

8:00pm outside the medical center.
-We made it- Johnny said relieved.
-Yeah we did, we fucking made it- I said relieved as well.

As we were about to enter the medical center a military soldier with epic sunglasses and armor startled us.

-WTF are you two doing here?- The soldier asked us.
-We're just here to find some medical supplies- I answered.
-In there?- He asked.
-Yeah, why?- Johnny asked.
-"Hmph", are you stupid or suicidal?!, that place is full of sick people!- He yelled at us.
-If there sick people then we have to help them- I responded.
-Those people are sick in a vicious and mental way kid there is no help for them- He said in a very serious way.
-Vicious how?- Johnny asked.
-I'll explain later, but right now we have to go it's getting dark- He said worried.

8:30pm entrance to the LAPD.
-Hey cadets, tough night huh?- The military soldier asked the cadets.
-Sir yes sir!- They answered with respect.
-At ease- He said.
-Hey you haven't told us your name yet- I said.
-Oh sorry, my name is Kowalski, Edward Kowalski and I'm a Lieutenant from the GEI(genetical engineering institution)- Edward explained.
-I'm also the leader of this recon team- Edward said while pointing at his cadets.
-Reginold, come here, satus report- Edward said.
-Go on guys get inside the police station, it's too dangerous to be outside right now- Edward explained.
-Ok, why?- Johnny asked worried.

As we were about to enter we heard a howling at the same time a shrieking sound coming from afar and getting louder by the second.

-Oh shit, howlers!- Edward yelled.
-What the hell are howlers?- We asked.
-Get inside, right now!- Edward yelled.

Third person narration Jimmy:
As Jimmy and Johnny entered, they saw monsters ripping apart the cadets, one by one they were taken out in a flick of an eye.

First person narration Jimmy:
Moments later after the massacre, after hearing all of those screams of agony and pain, we got the time to settle down, at least we felt safe.

-So, now that we are safe WTF were those things?!- Johnny asked yelling at Edward.
-We call them Howlers. They are ferocious mutated beasts of reckoning and rage. They have purple glowing eyes with teeth that can pierce to any metal. Those are the monsters of our nightmares, fears and worst enemy we've ever faced in the wastes. And the problem is that our institution got the chance to capture one and had experimented it physical form and nervous system and the scientists couldn't found any weak spots, hell they barely couldn't cut the beast's skin. Confronting a howler is the worst idea and if ever get the chance to see one, run- Edgar explained.

-But don't worry, your safe, for now- Edward said.
