Chapter 1

4 YEARS AGO

They came during the night no-one was awake in my house but me, I saw their big military trucks driving down the lights shining through my window, their were shouting coming from the soldiers telling them their orders and then they dispersed one going to each door in my neighbourhood, their was a nock at my door and the sound of my parents and siblings feet as they defended the stairs, I ran out my door and stopped at the top of the railing and looked down to see my father opening the door with my mother to his right with my sister Daisy in her arms

"Hello sir, Im corporal Jay-B Wright, and I'm here to evacuate your family so please pack some of your belongings and meet out front in 20 minutes with your car"

The man turned around and walked away to our neighbours. My father shut the door and my mother and him started to run around like bats out of hell packing bags, and boxes. My older Sister Sammy pulled me and my sister Daisy up the stairs to our rooms and told us to pack up our school bags with clothes and toys we want. I packed a Jumper, a long sleeved shirt, a short sleeved shirt, shorts, underwear, and my blanket my grandma made me before she and grandpa went to travel the world.I pulled on a pair of Sneakers and threw my piggy bank into the side compartment of my bag, I went down stairs to see everyone waiting for me, my mother came up to me holding my dressing gown for me to put on and wrapped it tightly around me and then tied a knot. We walked out to the car and I saw all our neighbours packing their cars and pushing their kids in. I climbed in my dad's 8 seater 4WD and buckled up and went back to sleep.

PRESENT

ALEX POV

I woke up and found my family had already left our room to go down to breakfast, I changed into my grey sweat pants and white tank top, and went to join my family for breakky.

After  Breakfast, my Sisters and I had training we have been training for about Four years now. I am in Division Alpha, Im in the top of my unit along with ten others, we are the elite in physical combat, IQ and Fitness, my younger sister Daisy is in beta she follows in my foot steps and my general see's great potential in her, my older sister Sammy is training to be a nurse as she exiled in chemistry and physics. we are all very proud of her she has helped so many soldiers who come back with stage markings of claw marks and bite marks.

After training what consisted of a 2k run and some tag and retreat drills, we were done for the morning  later on I will have to come back and do a shooting drill. I walked back to my room I share with my family and was surprised to see my mum, dad, Daisy and Sammy who was holding a small cake with a candle "happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Alex, happy birthday tooooo you" I laughed at my families idiotic behaviour and blew out my candle, today is my 16th Birthday and that means I can qualify for senior division Capa what is the top group in the children's division.

I opened the few presents I had received from my family and ended up receiving socks, new sneakers, a Book and a sketch Daisy did of our old house with my dog buster sitting on the back deck. 

after my mum cut the small cake and gave a small slice to each of us we all left the room to go back to our jobs my mum worked in the kitchen cooking she is the head chef and my dad works in the electronics department fixing the military equipment my sister Sammy goes back to the hospital and Daisy goes to the gym to work out her calves what she wants to get muscular like mine, and myself I head to the squaring match what everyone calls the "pit" the pit is when two fighters enter a match and have to take the other down, their are no rules only you can't kill your opponent or cause any type of mental damage.

once I arrive I see all my friends form Alpha sitting on the water tanks looking out to the pit where my friend Jay is fighting a girl from Beta devision 2. once I get to the bace of the water tank Brice and Adrian offer their hands down to pull me up, I take them and run up the side of the tank and end up sitting in-between them and continue to watch the match.

I had just come back from training and was laying down with my eyes closed on my bottom bunk when I heard it 

BOOM...BANG "RUN"screams a woman "WHAT ARE THEY" "HELP" "GET THE GUNS MOVE MOVE MOVE" I heard the sound of bombs and the screams of people I jumped out of bed to wake my sisters and notice my parents and my siblings aren't there I saw the not on the kitchen counter and grabbed it 

Alex,

Your father and sisters and I have decided to take the night shift as It will give us the extra money we need to save up for the new room, We will be gone until midday,their is bread on the counter and the toaster in in the pantry see you soon.

I ran like I have never ran before, I sprinted out the door only to come face to face with chaos, it was horrible their was blood on the walls screams of terror echoing through the hall way, I followed along the hall blood dripping from the walls dead bodies with bites and chunks taken out of them littered the ground, I came to the large viewing platform with glass covering the walls and looked down to the hell I used to call home, creatures chased and fed of the dead bodies of my comrades, blood was covering the floor like a velvet rug over polished tiles, I stared down in horror until I saw a bunch of creatures with the appearance of humans with ripped clothes, and peeling skin they looked like wild animals with black foam spitting from their mouths, they were tearing out chunks of flesh from my fathers chest his eyes wide open staring strait into my soul a womanly figure was next to him in his arms but her face was being ripped into by one of the creatures. A hand grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back from the window and covered my mouth to stop the scream threatening to escape, they turned me around and I sighed in relief knowing it was one of my mates from devision Alpha along with other members from different ranks their were around 12 of us all in different age groups, they all had weapons and supply bags on their backs I turned to Brice and ask "what happened what are those things?" I sounded like a wimp and I didn't care I was scared "They are called C.H.A.B's Crazed.Human.Animal.Beings they were created by scientists who tried to wipe out a country to balance the scale of humans but it backfired and mutilated, turned humans rabid, they recked havoc on civilisation and forced the arm to step in and rescue the families of civilians, thats is why we are here, they were training us to kill those things when we were older, they are planing on moving humans to a non contaminated country and wipe out the creatures with a bomb but they keep moving and getting into military bases to hunt" he said like he wasn't quiet sure of himself, I saw Janice push her way through the crowed and get to the front "They were expecting an attack but not for sometime, we were not prepared, we have a back up plane though, we need to evacuate and make it to the fence so we can be shipped to Haven" she breathed out looking quite exhausted with a nasty cut on her forehead and some bruising on her arms, she looks like one of the soldiers who come back into camp, she hands me a backpack and I pull it on, I move to the front of the group and notice that most of my division is here they all look worn out and beaten but kept a strait face, they may have lost someone they love like myself, I loved my family and it's killing me from the inside but I knew that they want me to succeed and avenge them, The army told us how to deal with losing a loved one I have suffered great loss, first my grandparents how I learned died in another camp to sickness, my aunt, uncle and two year old cousin who died of Tetanus, then my family, I breathed in and out to try and wash out the negativity and looked ahead and walked into the world I have not seen in many years, 'Welcome Back' I said under my breath.
