Alone Yet Not

Chapter 3

The new comers have not caused much trouble other than a small group of them riled up the omega's but that was dealt with accordingly, I have ordered my builders what is a team of 24 plus the other communities 30 we made up a complete group of 54 what I put to work on expanding the wall to make room for the newer communities as I believe we will need more room and more crops planted. Since the arrival of the community the tents have been quiet crowded and I have offered to share my tent with anybody of need, none wants to as they are afraid of me I don't like having my reputation but it puts fear in people and fear is better than people revolting against you for leadership all the time. I was on my way to see how the construction of the new wall was coming along, it is made out of a layer of boulders stacked on-top of each other and cemented together with compacted mud and straw the second layer has tree trunks drilled into the stone and standing strait the end's off the trees were cut so they were made into spikes. The left over branches normally made good firewood or enclosures for the small farm we kept for meat, eggs and milk we used the manure to fertilize the crops. I noticed that 10 of my builders were digging a hole around the bottom of the wall out of curiosity I went over to see what they were doing as I got closer to the hole I peered in and was very surprised to see Dustan shirtless and covered in dirt and sweat he didn't notice me as he continued to shovel dirt out of the hole and a huge pile came barreling at me and landed on my shoe I was FUMMING I screamed in annoyance and Dustan turned around and looked at me and then down to my shoe ad said "sorry princess, didn't think you were scared of a little mud" he smirked "WHY YOU COCKY ASSHOLE!" I yelled causing all heads to turn our way he laughed and said in a curious voice "why are you here shouldn't you be decorating something?" that got me and I was about to cuss and scream and attack him but I got ahold of myself and spoke calmly "Why are you digging around in the dirt like a pig" I stuck my nose in the air like a snob and crossed my arms "Because work need's to be done and the wall wont be finished for a few days leaving this side of the wall unprotected and an easy target, on the way in I noticed the claw marks on the wall and they are level to this wall the creatures could get in so I'm making it level" I nodded in approval he may look and act like a pig but he defiantly had a brain even if it was the size of a pea "Get back to work then" I huffed and walked away making sure my shoe with the dirt flew onto his face, I snickered to myself when I heard him moan in annoyance I don't know why I like to annoy him but every time I am around him I get butterfly's in my belly and I take more pride in my appearance what I normally do but I try to make myself look more stylish. After I walked back my section I noticed the hill my tent was sitting on took up a large portion of my corner and I quickly though of an awesome idea "COAL!" I yell at the top of my voice and wait until I hear the shuffling of his feet along the ground as he makes it to my side I point to my hill and explain my plan and he takes action immediately. I walk back up to my tent and work out the new layout of the compound and where things will be moved to for a more organized community as their will be hundreds of people living here soon. After hours of sitting by my desk with a pen and ruler drawing lines and circles my blueprint was perfect at the main gate I had a road run down the center with tents and stone houses that look like they are from medieval England at the housing the road splits in two on the left it leads to the hospital and farming and on the right it leads to the fighting and training arena and past the training arena it leads to my hill what has half the hill dug out and replaced with stone bricks and a door I decided to make it into a meeting room for all the leaders of the communities to come together and discuss important matters. And above the hill is my tent what over time I will build a house. I was in the middle of finishing the housing section and the streets when I heard someone clear their throat I look around and saw it was Dustan and he had a bed roll and bag, "you offered to share your tent and since I'm tired of sleeping outside can I share?" he sounded sincere and slightly desperate and had a pleading look in his eye I think about it for a while and nod I show him to where I sleep what is hay with animal skins thrown over the top with stones around the base to hold the hay in right next to my bed was a small fire pit with a hole in the roof to let the smoke escape on the other side of the fire pit was an empty corner and big enough for someone to stay so I pointed to the spot and he went over and unrolled his bed I was staring at him and he turned his head to meet my eyes I quickly turned away and walked back to my desk in the other room and continued, sometime later I felt someone lean over my shoulder and look onto my work, I look up and it's Dustan and he leaning over my shoulder in curiosity "Looks like a good plan but I think you should set up a main square here where the road splits and make a market place to sell good's so we can form some sort of money system eventually" he was pointing as he spoke and my eyes wondered along the page and I was finding myself agreeing with him I added in the market and the main square and found it looked good, I was getting quiet tired and rolled up my blueprint and tucked it into my shoulder bag ready to show the community tomorrow to see if they all agree. I went into my room and over to my chest what the wood cutters made for my birthday awhile ago I pulled out my dad's old baby blue button down shirt out and laid it on my bed I started to strip down out of my cargo pants and boots and then my black singlet and was unbuttoning the shirt until Dustan walks in and looks at me wide eyed he turns a shade of red and mumbles something under his breath and walks out I snicker at him, I doesn't bother me when I change around boys I did it back in training camp since they didn't have the room for two gender change rooms I quickly pulled on the shirt and buttoned it one by one and climbed onto my bear skin bed and curled into a ball. I pulled a deer skin that I caught ages ago hunting over my body and fell asleep instantly.

I woke up feeling warmer than usual and snuggled into my soft pillow, wait pillow I don't have a pillow? I opened my eyes and was shocked to see I was staring at a tan muscular chest and I was rapped around in strong lean arms I look up and came face to face with a sleeping Dustan I screamed so loud I could hear the echo in the mountain Dustan's eyes shot wide open and his grip lessened on me I pushed off of him and tumbled onto the floor clutching my deer skin I was panting heavily on the floor with my knee's tucked under my bum and the deer skin around me, Dustin was sitting on my bead on his knee's with his hands out trying to calm me down "shhh calm down...I'm sorry you looked really warm and I didn't have a blanket" he was talking very calmly "DOESN'T MEAN YOU HOP IN BED WITH ME" I screeched many disturbing thoughts stimulated my head at that moment "I'm sorry I didn't know what too do and I was cold I didn't thin it would matter" he told me blankly I was doing a breathing exercise to calm me down or I was going to blow my top, once I calmed down I got up and threw my blanket back on my bed and grabbed my clothes and headed into my wash room which had a small metal tub and bucket with a cloth, I cleaned my self with herb scented water and changed into my clothes what were my old army clothes and pulled my hair into a messy pony tail I pulled on my boots and tied the lases quickly and made my way to my desk I grabbed my shoulder bag and flung it on and stormed out of my tent. I made my way to the food tent an skipped the queue, I normally lined up but I was in a bad mood people noticed and let me be they knew better than to mess with me I took a handful of grapes and an apple for latter and walked around the tree stumps we used as tables I made my way over to my friends what mainly served were the high leading positions I sat down on the grass floor and popped a grape in my mouth Keeley noticed my mood and spoke up "who pissed you off this time cause I will whoop their ass" she says in her most serious tones I giggle at her and say "oh you know a certain co leader of mine" I say with sarcasm "what did that walking sex god do this time?" she folds her arms and cocks and eyebrow I smirk and say "I woke up and he was in my bed getting warm" I say she star's to laugh and everyone joins her I sigh and remembered my blueprint I pull it out of my bag and unroll it I set it out on the table using cups to hold down the corners "this is the plan I'm thinking of for the future when all the communities join what do you think?" I notice everyone in the group was tilting their heads to see they were all focusing and examining my idea Keeley speaks up first "I love the idea but where in the clothes store and the mall?" we all laugh and Kayden says "we can add that in later, once we have the main foundations" Kayden was my lead hunter he makes sure that his hunters are fully trained and equipped before any of them step outside the gate we have three groups what go out different times to get different prey mainly rabbits and occasionally deer only during the season he used to go to my school before we went to the military base and we were put into Alpha squadron together. After we all finish our meals I hand Coal the blueprints and head out to the training arena and spend the rest of the day training the younger kids archery.

Hey guys, another chapter is done and I'm quiet proud of myself, It took a long time to write out but that's ok It's done now and published I'm having trouble finding ideas for characters and who should play them any suggestions?
