The dinosaur dork (Zach Mitchell fic)

chapter 7

"that things part raptor" I explained
as if on cue the 4 raptors turned around and hissed at all of us.
"RETREAT! RETREAT" Owen yelled
I quickly turned around sprinting to my motorcycle.
until I heard Owen scream from behind me. I turned around and echo was right on top of him snapping at his face but he tried with all him might to keep her at a safe distance. I didn't want to shoot her so instead I tackled her off of Owen and yelled at him to run
I got up while echo was still a bit dazed
I sprinted for my life while my leg was throbbing
someone had stolen my motorcycle in all the chaos and the next closest thing was the truck that had the boys in it.
"why the hell haven't they left yet?!" I thought to myself
I run to the back and scream for zach to unlock the door and let me in. while I am screaming, Charlie seemed to notice me. I screamed louder and I could hear him fiddling with the lock on the other side of the door. just as he unlocked it, Charlie tackled me and I struggled to hold her mouth away from my face. I was scared of choking her but I also didn't want to die.
I could hear zach and grey screaming for me. at that moment I heard the car start. this momentarily distracted Charlie so I pushed her off me and got into the truck.
the truck pulled off as fast as it could but Charlie was faster.
it chased after us with the doors to the back wide open.
Charlie leaped and tried to get in the truck. while she didn't manage to do make it all the way in, she did manage to reach her claw and pull onto zach almost managing to pull him out completely. I screamed and looked for something to use as defense. I found a long Taser and stabbed Charlie with it which hurt so much to do. she would never trust me again if she survived that. she flung out the back of the truck and we drove until we couldn't even see her anymore
"good luck, Charlie" I muttered to myself and laughed at. I don't know how I could laugh at a time like this but I did. zach thanked me
"don't mention it" I replied and went to close the door to the back so that didn't happen again"
grey was crying by now and zach and I went to comfort him. we were silent and just let him cry.
I was pleasantly surprised that zach didn't make a comment about how grey was being a baby for crying. it seems zach has changed a bit since we first met. I suppose we all have. no one would be the same after something like this I guess.

after a short drive we arrived back to the center of Jurassic world and sprint inside.
honestly I think adrenaline is the only thing making me capable of running on my leg that seems to be severally injured.
as we run inside we hear the not very distant sounds of loud roars, one intensely louder than the others.
as I walk in I see Owen also inside waiting for us. he hands Claire and I a gun which we hold onto.
we make our way deeper into the building to the lab. we walk in and see none other thank hochkins. wow, just the guy I wanted to see (:
"LOOK WHAT YOUVE GOTTEN US INTO" hochkins yells at me,
"THE PRINCESS JUST HAD TO GET HER WAY. SHE THOUGHT SHE COULD HANDLE THE RAPTORS OUTSIDE OF THEIR CAGE BUT SHE WAS WRONG AND COST MANY BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN THEIR LIVES. I tried to save the children but by the time I got there, they were dead, they all were.." Hochkins said "or at least that's what I'll tell the press when I survive this and you don't" he continued
"I firmly intend on staying alive" I explained
"if the Dinos don't take you out, I'll do it myself" he spat
"OVER MY DEAD BODY" grey screamed as he stepped in front of Me. i could tell he was trying to be threatening but, erm, well, it's the thought that counts.
as I pulled grey back behind me, blue stumbled in.
she looked at us then looked at hotchkins and ultimately decided to go for hochkins. I took this as our chance and pushed the boys out the door. we started running with Owen and Claire following. I ignored the sound of hochkins yelling for help and mercy and tried not to cry.
I stopped at a podium and typed into the tablet and a hologram appeared. Owen and Claire passed me as I did this but I hoped it would help us stall for time when the raptor finishes his meal.
as I run outside I see the four of my friends huddled in a circle with two raptors on both sides of them. Owen has his arms stretched out to hopefully stop them from attacking.
I run and take Owens place hoping that I have a bigger effect.
at that moment blue ran out of the building and came right in front of us.
there are three of them now.
but I believe I can do this.
I put my gun down in hopes to get their Guards down.
I walk up to blue and take the nozzle off of her face. then do the same to echo and delta. I don't see Charlie around, I suppose she didn't make it which breaks my heart.
I build a little trust by doing this and they haven't attacked yet, which is a good sign.
then i hear a loud, gut-wrenching screech which hurts my ears and see the indomonus coming full speed in our direction.
I make eye contact with blue and she nods. I think they are on our side once again.
they start to sprint for the indomonus
while we sprint into a merch hut.
"do you think the raptors can kill that thing?!?" Claire asks me
"they will definitely buy us some time" I reply
"I've got a plan. a really stupid one. but it's better than nothing. I need y'all to trust me." I say seriously.
