Chapter 2

 Kerberos chuckled as Civet tensed up. "It's just Nicole and Ali. They never were good cooks." He smiled and disappeared into the kitchen.

Civet lifted an eyebrow and slowly started to walk into the kitchen when suddenly she stopped. She gaped as she looked down and couldn't walk anymore. Nothing was in her way. "Is there an invisible wall here?" She thought, reaching out in front of her. "Nope."  She thought. Moments later she heard laughing that sounded like she was thinking it.

 Civet looked around nervously. "No one is here.. then what was I hearing..?"  She shook her head at herself and tried to take a step forward. She still couldn't move. "Kerberos?"

She called out and bit her lower lip when he entered. "Yes?"  Civet glanced down at her feet. "I.. I can't move."

Kerberos laughed. "Yes you can.. it's called taking a step."  He took a step closer to her. "Like this."

 One out of the two girls that entered the room giggled. Civets' eyes flicked towards them. She didn't even realize they had entered the room.

One of them had pink curly hair, with brown eyes and looked skinny, as if she hasn't ate anything in a while. The other, the one that giggled, had straight blond hair with with amber eyes and had a curvy figure. Civet looked back at Kerberos, who was glaring at pinky. 

 Civet lifted an eyebrow and asked. "What did I mi--"

Kerberos interrupted her. "Stop it Nicolette." Civet tilted her head to the side. 

Nicolette continued to look annoyed. "No. Why should I." By the tone of her voice Civet could tell Nicolette didn't like her.

"What is she doing?" Civet asked, disturbing the awkward silence.

"She's controlling your actions and thoughts." Kerberos said without taking his eyes off Nicolette. "Oh now I understand." Civet thought.

Nicolette's lips curled up into a smirk and Civet leaned over clunching her stomach. "Oww."

Keberos' eyes flicked back to look at Civet then narrowed them at Nicolette. He bared his sharp teeth and hissed. "Stop it..! Stop it now!" Civet's stomach stopped hurting and she stood up straight, eyes widened with fear at Nicolette who smiled as she watched Civet back up.

 Minutes have gone by before anyone spoke. Kerberos too mad at Nicolette. Nicolette too pleased with herself and Civet too scared. So Ali did.

"Hmm who's hungry? I know I am." Ali smiled, hoping it would ease the tension.

Nicolette was the second to speak. "I am." Then she walked off without another word. Moments later Kerberos was following her, most likely going to yell at her for what she did to Civet.

 Ali turned to Civet, a smile on her face. "I don't think I introduced myself correctly. I'm Ali."

Civet smiled back, she liked nice people. "I'm Civet." Ali nodded. "Erm, what was Nicolette doing to me exactly?"

Ali's smile tugged down into a frown. "Mind control. I'm surprised she didn't make you think bad about Kerberos."

 "Wow. Does everyone else have a power but me.? Ali looked confused then nodded, but uncerternly. Civet stepped back. "So what are yo- you..?"

Ali threw her head back and laughed. "Nothing you should be afraid of."

Civet lifted an eyebrow. "Then what are you?" Ali grinned and took a couple steps back.

 Civet stared in amazement. "Woah..." She was staring at a sandy colored wolf with black slits for eyes. "Awesome. You can shift into a wolf.." Nicolette walked back in, stopped and rolled her eyes. "No you idiot. She is a werewolf." 

"What did i tell you?" Civet jumped at the sound of Kerberos' voice right next to her.  "When did he get here?" Civet thought slightly confused.

 Kerberos grinned at Civets' reaction then turned his attention back to Nicolette. "Be nice to our guest." 

Nicolette made a disgusted look and groaned. "She's not getting my room." She narrowed her eyes at Kerberos then stomped upstairs.

  "What's her problem?" Civet whispered to Ali who had changed back human and seemed friendly enough to talk to.

Ali shrugged. "I don't know.. but If I were you. I'd stay away from her." Civet nodded. Of course... there always had to be drama on the first day.
