Chapter Five: Meeting the Sorting Hat Again and Strange Teachers

When we gotten out I noticed that Hagrid wasn't there but instead it was the substitute from last year, Professor Grubby-Plank. I then became worried for Hagrid, Where was he and he alright? I then heard a voice ask, "Are you an exchange student?" "Huh? Oh, yes mam'e." I said awkwardly. "Well follow me then." She told me as we took the boats to the castle. When we arrived Professor McGonagall told me to wait until she calls me. I waited for a while then I heard my name, I stepped out then she told me to sit on the bench. I nodded and she placed the sorting hat on my head. "What are you doing back here Tiger Hohnsen?" "I'm not Tiger anymore my name is Timothy Sammules." I told it. "Well we both know you are a Hufflepuff but I will let you select your house but know this,Tiger Hohnsen, know that things will change no matter what house you go into." I became silent the I told it, "I would like to be in Griffindor, please." "Are you sure?" It asked me I thought for a moment then said, "I'm sure." "Alright. Griffindor!" It yelled then professor Mcgonagall took that hat off me. I went to the Griffindor table everyone greeted me. It was nice until I heard the hat yell out, "Ravenclaw!" I was confused because I thought that I was the last one I turned my head to see, Vladmir Atanas, My boyfriend, leaving the stool. "Timothy? Timothy, Are you alright?" Asked Harry. "Uh, Yes, Yes I think so." I told him quickly while muttering the last part. "Don't worry Timothy it's going to be okay." Hermione told me. I gave her a small smile, "Thanks Hermione." After we ate our dinner, Professor Dumbledore started talking but was rudely interrupted by a lady who had blonde hair and a pink outfit. I frowned at that but as she spoke she immedaly bored everyone in the whole room, Hermione then told us after decipher what that lady, who I learned is named Professor Umbridge, is here to snoop around Hogwarts. I followed Hermione and Ron to the Griffindor dorm. Soon Harry came in with Neville, he then got into a fight with Seamus Finnigan and assaulted Seamus's mother for believing the ministry. Luckily Ron was able to break it up before it got horrible. After Dean Thomas and Nevill told Harry that they supported him I dragged him to the the dormentry that we shared with Ron. "Harry! How could you say such thing about Seamus's mother! That's just plain cruel. What if someone said something like that about your mother?" "What are you talking about,Tiger?" He asked me, I quickly said, "That doesn't matter, what does is that you just insulted someone's mother just because they didn't believe that are saying." He looked at me saying, "Well, it's matter's to me because I'm telling the truth." I sighed telling him, "Harry, not everyone knows it." Then I got ready for bed, While I was laying in my bed I began to think about tomorrow, about my cousin, and life as I knew it. Finally I somehow found sleep. That morning I took a shower, which luckily for me no one was in there yet, gotten dressed and headed downstairs. I saw an advertisement that the twins put up to test their experiments. I smiled but the others tore it down, Hermione told us that girl named Lavender Brown had argued with her like Seamus did with Harry. I frowned as we headed toward the great hall, as we ate, a girl, named Angelina Johnson came over telling Harry that she had replaced Oliver Wood as the Griffindor captain and that she needed a keeper so the Griffindor team was holding tryouts suddenly she turned towards me asking, "Hey your one of the foreign exchange students right?" "Uh,Yes." "Do you play quidditch?" "Oh no, I don't mam'e." She then looked at me in shock where I started freaking out telling her. "I-I didn't mean to offend you or anything!" She them smiled telling me, "I'm not offended. I'm just surprised that you are so polite." I began to sweat drop but Ron then said, "He not all nice, on the train ride here he got into a fight with Malfoy but before it became ugly Professor Hohnsen broke it up." "Wow, to be honest I would never expect you do that but a word of advice, stay away from Malfoy or anyone in Slytherin. They're all bad news. Anyway I have to go, See you guys around." After breakfast we met up with the twins, Hermione reprimanded them for hanging that sign in the common room this morning. They replied with, "We're not really going to stay for our seventh year." Fred told us. "Yeah, We have a better plan ahead." "What are you talking about?" Hermione asked suspiciously to which Harry quickly said, "You two shouldn't joke like that." The twins then said, "Well maybe Granger needs a little sense of humor right,George?" "Right Fred." He agreed but as they left I followed trying to catch up saying, "Hey guys if you need a test subject i'll help out." "Are you sure?" asked Fred. "I'm sure." I told them with a smile then George told me. "Alright, but if Granger said anything. You tell her that it was your idea." I nodded, after that I headed to DADA class. It's weird since they placed me as a fifth year instead of a fourth, I just hope that I don't fall behind my classes. As I stepped in I notice that no one really had their wands out so I figured that I must of been early but I was wrong because Professor Umbridge then said in a sickly sweet tone, "Excuse me, why are you late to my class?" Oh I-I must have turned the wrong way,I'm sorry." I stuttered then she asked, "Are you lying to me?" I was scared, but before I could say anything a familiar voice said, "He's an exchange student. He probably got lost on the way here without Weasley holding his hand." Jorden said with a grin everyone laughed as bowed my head in embarrassment. Professor Umbridge then said, "Now children enough." Then she turned toward Jorden saying, Well Professor Hohnsen I didn't expect you to be in my class." I saw him grimace a bit then tell her, "I'm only an assistant Professor." She smiled saying, "Well feel free to step in my class." He told her, "I'll keep that in mind, but passing us I heard him mutter, Not a chance in hell." During class Professor told us that we will only be using books and not spells. I thought it was odd but the other students were questioning this although Professor Umbridge told them it was wrong I didn't say anything until she started insulting Professor Lupin, that's when I stood up telling her angrily, "Just because he's a werewolf doesn't mean he's a bad person!" She gave me a look then said, "Oh then do you have anything to admit,Mister Sammules?" I shooked my head before I could sit Harry asked her a bunch of questions but when the subject of Voldemort and Cedric came up she denied it telling us that it was a tragic accident. Harry kept going then she gave him detention that's when I said something, "You can't give him detention for telling the truth!" "And why would you say that Mister Sammules?" I quickly told her, "Harry's my friend so if he says that I believe him." "Well I hope you enjoy detention because that's were you two are going." We had to leave to see Professor McGonagall about this while there, she advised Harry to control his anger and me to try to keep not out burst in class. After she was done she received a note about our detention, we had to spent it with her for a whole week.
