You ask me what sadness is, well I'll tell you
Sadness is not know what your going to eat
Because mama don't come home till 9 a.m.
And there ain't nothin' to cook for dinner
So you use your last $10 for a small pizza
But you don't eat because your 'not hungry'
Because you don't want your brothers to know
That there family is broke living in a rich city
Sadness is taking two showers a day
Cause the anxiety of having the blade so close
Yet so very far away physically hurts
But no one can know that you have relapsed
Sneaking into the bathroom at three a.m.
Because the pain has faded and your empty
Sadness is knowing your older brother will die
Way before you are because he's addicted
And refuses to get help, says that's he 'fine'
Even though he was in the ICU two times
And put into a medically induced coma
Sadness is growing up with no one at all
Sent to a home to think your unwanted
People come and go but you never leave
Because your too old for all the parents
There for your unlovable and thrown away
Always wondering why they abandoned you
Sadness... There is no one definition
