subtle and secret

The sun may cast off the smallest ray of light
cracking through the darkness,
In its subtle secret ways
then all at once shatter the whole sky.
Revealing nothing but the watery colors of daybreak.
My dusty curtains have been drawn,
Revealing all I have been missing;
Concealed and smothered
For year after year,
Drowning in consciousness
I never imagined life to be so bright,
So new against my sad eyes.
And I can feel it,
All the love,
All the wondrous joys,
Resting upon my fingertips.
I must become this new light;
Strange and exhilarating..
I must see more.
