"Can you close up by yourself?" I called to Kathy,
"Yes!" She yelled back,
I collected my things and stormed out to the parking lot, this was all to much stress to handle while being this pregnant. I started my truck and sped away as fast as I could without getting pulled over, the drive home went quick just as I hopped. I couldn't wait to get home and just sit down and relax.
"I'm home!" I yelled while opening up the front door, everything was strangely quiet.. to quiet for my liking.
"Momma?" Blair whispered creeping down the hall,
"Hi honey, where's daddy?" I asked her bending down so i was at her level. As she slowly approached me I noticed the hand marks on her arms and the red hand print on her left cheek, Bruises peeked out from her tattered T-shirt.
"Who did this to you?!" I said raising my voice angrily,
"Welcome home Old friend," Someone bellowed from behind me, I turned on my heels as my fist connected with a man's face. Blair screamed and ran in between my legs shielding herself from the on coming trouble.
Men in black came from every direction cornering me and my daughter into a tight space, Jayce was pushed forward causing him to stumble and nearly knock me over. I helped steady him taking in his appearance also,
Blood stained his tight camo T-shirt and dripping down from his lip, while his eye had evidently taken a few hits. I gasped in horror as his hands had been tied behind his back giving him rope burn and hand print bruises on his muscular arms. He lowered his lips to my forehead mumbling a few i'm sorry's before turning to face the attacker, therefore hiding me and Blair behind his back. Blair toyed with the ropes around his wrists loosening them while I worked on calling the police.
"What do you want?" Jayce snarled just as the operator had picked up,
"I want your wife of corse," The deep voice answered back, hatred oozing from his every word.
"help," Blair spoke quietly into the phone without anyone but I noticing,
"Oh and you pretty daughter to," He barked,
"Never!" Blair roared at this still annomonous man, Jayce's hands were released but he still kept them positioned behind his back.
"I'll make you a deal," He slurred,
"No," Jayce growled,
"Shoot.." The man began but was cut off by the barging in of a single officer followed by the S.W.A.T
Jayce snatched the gun from the still bewildered man and held it to his head just as I got a look at him,
"Hayden!" I screamed, anger boiling inside of me,
"Mam do you know him?" The officer asked pulling Hayden into hand cuffs,
"He's the one who caused me trouble as a teenager," I reported loudly,
The rest of the teat wrestled the other armed men into cuffs and walked them out saying their brief goodbyes to my family and I. I led my daughter to the couch as an ambulance drove up to our house, they got out and ordered everyone around until A warm moist cloth was put into my hands. I set Blair in front of me and began wiping the blood from her body and cleaned her petrified face. Jayce's wounds had been tended to along with Blairs excess bruises. I rubbed my eyes tiredly until I felt sleep taking over, Above the loud beeping and sirens I dosed off into a deep slumber.
