•Hey dad, I just came home from a wedding
I saw the father daughter dance, they were all crying for it was full of meaning
The father gives the groom his only daughter
From my view you could see the father really did love her

Will I ever get to experience anything like that?
By the time I grow old, maybe then you'd be back.
When I first understood the problem, all I did was wait
Maybe I understood it a little too late.

Thinking back now, I saw how weak I was,
Crying at all the happy fathers I pass.
Looking now, I see how weak I am
Crying over my father, that left me, his precious gem

But still after all that, I would still forgive him after everything he's done
Even when all he ever did was run
I still forgive you, dad of mine
I'll still be here waiting for when it'll be time.
