"Because, Blake! Your too distracted in Los Angeles! The only thing you care about is yourself and dance! This school is going to teach you responsibility and discipline! It has a huge dance program so It's not like were taking away your life long dream!"
"But why can't I learn discipline here instead of in San Fransisco? I dont want to leave L.A.! And how are you going to let me leave when my poor little sister and brother aren't going to have a young role model!"
"Oh quit it! Izzy and Jake will be fine! They know your coming back! and for god sake! You're 17! Most kids your age are begging their parents to let them move out!"
"Well I'm not most kids, mom and dad! I love Los Angeles! And what am I going to tell all my friends? My parents are shipping me off to some preppy white school to learn responsibilty. So, see ya!"
"Stop calling it a preppy white school! You have white in you! Your bi-racial!"
"So what? I have like 5% white in me! The rest is Dominican and Hispanic! So technically I'm not white."
"Blake, You have 30% Caucasian, 25% African American, and 45% Dominican and Hispanic."
"Whatever Dad!"
"See, this is the reason your going to that school! You need to learn respect and discipline and responsibility! You have two weeks before you leave--"
"You mean before you ship me off..."
"Blake shut your mouth and listen to your father before I smack you upside the head!"
"As I was saying, you have two weeks before you leave so I suggest you pack your bags soon."
"Fine, whatever. But can I at least throw a going away party!?"
"Thats fine by me!"
"Mom your like 45, you're past your party age."
"Uhm no I'm not hon, I'm 36."
"Oh yeah, all the memories of the discussion you had with me on getting pregnant as a teen are flooding back!" I said rolling my eyes.
"I was 19. I was an adult and that discussion was because your not an adult."
"Yeah, yeah. I'm not getting pregnant as a teen, mom. I'm going to take a nap."
