I drove home from the airport, my heart among other things aching the entire way. I moped into my house, going directly upstairs to bury my face into my pillow. I laid there for a while, not wanting to move, until someone began calling my phone. "Hello?" I asked, looking at the freshly makeup stained pillow.
"Are you okay?" Lacey's voice came through.
"No..." I admitted, tears still falling freely down my cheeks.
"He'll be back soon," Lacey said, trying to make me feel better.
"It's okay, he just left so it's still a fresh wound," I confessed, wiping the tears from my cheeks as new ones replaced their spots.
"Well, I was calling to ask if you wanted to go to the beach with the boys and I this afternoon," Lacey asked. I thought about it for a minute, really not wanting to go, but maybe it would be good if I left the house for a while.
"Uh, sure. I just have to throw on a bathing suit," I said, looking over at the clock that read 12:29 PM.
"Okay, we will be there in like 15 minutes," Lacey said, hanging up the phone and leaving me to get changed. I groaned and looked in the mirror, my face stained with makeup and my clothes all wrinkled from laying down on them. I quickly stripped out of them, throwing my dirty clothes into a pile on the floor as I searched for a bathing suit. Finding a hot pink strapless bikini, I threw it on and washed my face clear of the makeup stains, throwing on a cover up and running downstairs with my phone in my hands.
I waited for a little while longer before Lacey rang the doorbell, looking perky in the doorway. "I like your bathing suit," I teased, we had accidently worn the same bathing suit.
"That's embarrassing," Lacey teased, "Oh, I couldn't get the van today, so I had to take my car... You're going to have to squish in with Michael, Calum, and Ash in the back seat."
I groaned, "Great." She pushed my playfully as I walked to the car, opening the door and sitting down next to Ashton, not voluntarily.
"So, how far is the beach from here?" Calum asked, 15 minutes after we had left. It was awkwardly silent in the car, so I'm assuming he tried to ease the tension.
"Uhhhh, maybe another half hour," Lacey said, turning up the radio. One of my favorite songs, Something That We're Not by Demi Lovato came on. (I'm putting in lyrics, normally I don't like to do this, but it helps the entire story :) )
I shoulda known when I got you alone
That you were way too into me to know
This isn't love boy, this ain't even close
But you always think we're something that we're not
And now you call me every single night
I only answer cause I'm too polite
We happened once, or maybe it was twice
Yeah you always make it hard for me to stop
But you always think we're something that we're not
You wanna be more than just friends
I can't go through this again
Stop trying get inside my head
Don't wanna do more than hookup
It's getting stupid, cause I shoulda known but I forgot
That you think we're something that we're not, hey!
I hear you're telling every one you know
That I'm the one like you can't let me go
And you just keep on blowing up my phone
Cause you never seem to know when you should stop
Don't introduce me to any of your friends
Delete my number, don't call me again
We had some fun, but now it's gonna end
But you always made it hard for me to stop
Now you always think we're something that we're not, hey!
You wanna be more than just friends
I can't go through this again
Stop trying get inside my head
Don't wanna do more than hookup
It's getting stupid, cause I shoulda known but I forgot
That you think we're something that we're not, hey!
Something that we're not, hey!
You think we're something that we're not
Yeah, you think we're something that we're not
Not gonna happen, dude.
You wanna be more than just friends
Don't wanna go through this again
Stop trying get inside my head
Don't wanna do more than hookup
It's getting stupid, cause I shoulda known but I forgot
That you think we're something that we're not, hey!
You think we're something that we're not
Something that we're not
Stop playing
You think we're something that we're not
But you think we're something that we're not
