Broken
"Andrew, Andrew, Andrew... Andrew, Andrew, Andrew.... Andrew, Andrew, Andrew... "Olympia croons. I watch passively. She's been doing that the pass 5 days. Andrew still hasn't responded. She still hasn't left. Aiden and I mourn the only way we know how. Silence. Stagnant silence. It feels just as good as crying.
Andrew was in the white hospital bed. He had two wires in him. There used to be many; now there's one for the IV and one to feed him. He had on a hospital gown and he had a bandage over his head, right forearm, and neck.
Besides that, there were scratches here and there. The ones from the trees and stones, has healed. Those that came from the Alpha, however, has not. His claws were laced in silver.
How he survived that, I do not know. Allison has one bandage, a tight one, around her ribs. She has a healed scar from her fall. It's a miracle she's alive, at least that's what the doctors says. He doesn't believe Andrew will make it though. But he's wrong, Andrew will make it. Andrew will survive. When he does, I will tell him about the kids. I promise.
Olympia never sleeps. Maybe it's the Angel thing. But she's always here. Andrew and I never get alone time. I guess it doesn't matter though, considering he's in a coma.
Kaden walks into the room with all of our change of clothes. Aiden takes his and hurries to the bathroom. I hear the shower turning on. I have five minutes.
"Olympia, may you go get some food with Kaden for me? I'm extremely tired, and you know what I want." She looks over at me, wiping her eyes. Kaden looks at me suspiciously.
"Fine, be back in five."I nod, watching them go. As soon as their footsteps are down the hall, I stretch my aching muscles. I move my hands towards Andrews. As they connect, a fire within me burns so deep it almost hurts. I use my other hand to caress his face. I scoot the cot that I sat on over and sat close to the hospital bed on my knees.
"Andrew, honey. Andrew, this is Autumn. The kids need you, so wake back up now." I pat his cheek and move my mouth to his ear. "Do you hear me, Andrew? Get up now! Now!"
I can't help it; tears stream down my face as I hug his chest. No matter how much I beg him, he doesn't respond. Then, something spreads through my body; a different kind of fire. Everywhere I touch Andrew, the soothing fire blooms. My skin begin to glow as I stop begging him. Then, miraculously, his skin begins glowing as well.
"Autumn,"Bella barges in with Olympia and Kaden behind her. "Wait, what's going on? How did you get that power?" Bella asks me. I look at her confused. I don't know. What power is it that I seem to possess? Is it a bad power?
"I don't know." I tell her honestly. Olympia sighs stepping up and holding my arm. She pulls me up away from Andrew and I protest.
"Do you wanna know about the powers?" I nod. Olympia pulls up my shirt. She then presses a hand on each side of my stomach.
"No, you can't have that power; it's rare." Bella says. I furrow my eyebrows as I look to her. I squint my eyes.
"What power?" Kaden asks. The question is on all of our minds, except for Olympia, who knows of all powers, and Bella, the mind reader.
"The ability to know when someone has an ability, find what it is, and locate how they express the ability. Through anger, control, fear. I know it all. It's an acquired skill, learned up in heaven." Olympia lays her forehead on my bare nine week pregnant stomach. After a few moments she stands up, letting my stomach go.
"What is it?" I ask her. I hold my torso, fearing for my unborn children. What is to become of them? Will they turn out like me, like Andrew? I push the question away. I will only deal with one thing at a time. For now that is questioning their abilities.
