Lori was the first out of the RV, followed closely by Kirby. Mallorie was hiding behind Kirby's legs, peeking around them every so often as she clutched onto the back of Kirby's pants. The medical bag was back on Kirby's shoulder.
"Oh good, you're up. Where's your daughter? Is everything alright?" Rick asked as he made his way over to Kirby and Lori.
Kirby smiled lightly and placed her hand on Mallorie's head in comfort.
"We're alright." Kirby said as she moved Mallorie in front of her.
This only had Mallorie burrow her face into Kirby's legs.
"Rick, this is Kirby and Mallorie. Kirby, this is my husband Rick and my son Carl." Lori said as a young boy appeared from behind Rick.
Rick held out his hand and Kirby shook it.
"I'm glad you and your girl are alright. We couldn't believe our eyes when we showed up to help. You have a brave daughter." Rick said and smiled down at Mallorie, who in return looked up at him shyly.
Mallorie turned back to Kirby and stretched her arms up. Kirby immediately picked Mallorie up and sat her on her hip.
"Okay, so that's Shane, T-Dog, Andrea and her sister Amy, Dale, Carol and her daughter Sophia, Jim, Glenn, Jacqui, Morales and Carol's husband Ed." Lori said, biting off the last word.
Kirby looked around and frowned.
"Where's the guy that caught me?" Kirby asked, not seeing him anywhere.
"Daryl? Oh, he's probably in his tent by now. He isn't a people person if you catch my drift. His brother Merle is missing and Daryl's been harsher than usual." Lori whispered, even as Rick sighed.
"I don't blame him. I would be extremely upset if Mallorie went missing." Kirby stated, wrapping her arms more around the girl.
Mallorie rested her head on Kirby's shoulder as her eyes roamed the camp. When she spotted Shane, Mallorie flinched and moved her face into the crook of Kirby's neck.
"What's wrong, sweetheart?" Kirby asked, brushing her fingers through Mallorie's blond waves.
Mallorie shook her head as Carol, Andrea, Amy, and Jacqui walked over. Amy held some folded up clothes in her hands and a pair of small shoes.
"If you don't mind, I can wash your clothes for you." Carol said gently.
"And I brought your some clothes for you and Mallorie." Amy said, smiling as she held up the clothes.
"We were going down to the quarry to wash the others clothes. You and Mallorie can clean up there too." Andrea stated.
"Thank you. This means a lot for you all to take us in." Kirby said, thanking them.
"We get to take a bath?" Mallorie finally spoke up, causing all the women to coo at the girl.
That had Mallorie going back into 'hiding' and Kirby laughing.
"Sorry." Jacqui said, grinning.
Kirby grinned back.
"She's not really big on surprise noises coming from others." Kirby stated.
Together, Kirby walked down to the quarry with the rest of the women. When the water came into view, Kirby tapped Mallorie's shoulder and had her turning around to look. Her blue eyes opened and she gasped, causing the others to laugh.
"We get to take a bath in that?" Mallorie asked, looking back at Kirby.
Kirby nodded.
"Yes we do, but first I want to put a plastic bag over your cast so that you don't get it wet." Kirby said as they reached the bottom of the quarry.
