It took Alex a while to calm, but when he finally made it, he definitely didn’t like his decision.

He had made his decision before to help her flee either way, but now he had added another stipulation to this. Staying away from her. He couldn’t get emotionally attached to her.

Hell he even never married until now, because he didn’t want to get attached to someone since he as soldier probably would die soon. He even was too attached to her in his own opinion right now.

He went back to her room, forgetting about Sarah, when he saw Felix standing there, obviously caught in a heated debate with a royal guard.

“What’s going on here?” Alex asked jogging closer.

“They won’t let me see her!” Felix complained enraged.

“The girl has left.” The soldier stated and Alex felt a soft pang in his heart. “I can show you the room, but it’s empty.”

“We really would like to see the room.” Felix muttered and pushed past the man.

Alex went startled after him.

They entered the room and found it indeed empty. Felix walked a circle in the room and looked pitiful at Alex.

“What are you doing here?” Felix asked the soldier all of sudden.

“I was ordered to support her guard, but found it empty when I arrived.” The man said smoothly.

“Quiet a coincidence isn’t it?” Felix said doubtful.

“It is sad that she left, but we couldn’t keep her here.” The man said again in this smooth tone, avoiding the answer. “However there is no more reason for you to stay in this building anymore, please let me guide you out.”

Alex nodded, knowing that there wasn’t much he could do.  “Come on Felix.”

Felix threw a dark look at the man, but said nothing and followed Alex out. He put an arm around his shoulder and pulled him closer.

“Something here is fishy.” He whispered while the guard behind them locked the door.

“She is gone Felix nothing more.” Alex muttered. “And it’s probably my fault.”

“Then I ask you, why her bow was still in the room?” Felix whispered back. “After she explained us, how much it worth’s for her.”

That caught Alex attention and he turned to Felix. “What are you implying?”

“That the royals play a foul game with us right now.” Felix said lowly, with a dark look on his face.

Suddenly they both tripped, and looked on the floor, where a deep claw mark was. Their eyes instantly followed the claw marks which were like a line going downstairs and sideward.

Alex instantly was sure that this were Zsusa’s, though he remembered him walking silent as a cat, and never even scratching the floor.  That was a hint.

“Look they lead further down in the cellars. They weren’t there with us, but why should they go down there, when Zsusa feasts of the sunlight? Isn’t it too dangerous for him?” Felix guessed quickly and Alex nodded.
