"You're kidding?" She looked around, the cafeteria was full and busying, an easy place to talk. This may sound weird but, as I mentioned before, people were too happy and concentrated in their own little conversations to ever notice one in particular. However, I did the same little gesture, out of habit perhaps, and looked deep into her brilliant eyes before continuing my tale.
"No. I am not 'kidding' you, I swear," I took another sip of my coffee, which by this time was all too cold, trying to keep my composure and as cool as possible.
"Uh-Bu- What in gods name are you still sitting here blabbing for?" She looked at me incredulously, I returned the stare confused, tossing my rank coffee away from me. She basically fell off her chair, "go find out where their practicing!" She pulled me off my seat and slightly nudged my back, "GO! go!" I stumbled forward into the busy hall, trying desperately not to fall on my face as I made my way to the door.
I knew no one would be in the corridors, no one ever is at lunch, however, it did not feel right that the halls were completely free. It was as if the world knew where I was headed, for the entire walk to the music block was clear from taunting bullies and uncomfortable stares. This of course was perfect, for one wrong look and I may of abandoned my mission completely. Green lockers lined the plain, wash walls, art work long forgotten and incredibly old stuck to the sides of cabinets and lay abandoned on the floor. I hummed, softly, quietly, to myself.
"Oh, Juliet right?" That low voice... I spun on my heels only to be greeted by the concerned expression on the boys face. Andy. Behind him stood four other relatively tall, raven haired teens, all dressed in identical leather and black. They seemed friendly enough- all smiling full teethed grin- and each carried with him a beautiful guitar, all but Andy and one other who held drumsticks. This, of course, must have been his band.
"Yeah, hi. I didn't know anyone was indoors this lunch," I gestured to the windows on my right, displaying the sun drenched summers day outside. The boys chuckled and I returned my focus back to the small group, "who are your friends?" With that he smiled a boyish smile obviously excited to introduce me.
"Oh, guys this is Juliet," he smirked, signing for them to step forward and introduce themselves. The first to step forward was almost as hansom as he was, with long brunette/black hair that swung over his shoulders, soft hazel eyes and one hell of a set of cheek bones. His voice was not as low as Andy's but it was sweet nonetheless.
"My names Ashley, I play bass for our band," he winked, obviously he was the flirter of the group. Makes sense. From behind him step up a equally as tall boy, his face less slim and flashy but with an amazing amount of character. He smiled a toothy smile and held out his hand- which I took- and laughed slightly,
"I'm Christian, but everyone calls me CC," he bowed slightly and I could not supress my smile as I curtseyed. He seemed pretty cool. However, the next to step forward was slightly more cautious, his face half hidden behind thick, dark hair. From what I could see, he had beautiful blue eyes, a gentle smile and calm, light set dimples that only made him cuter. I wanted to hug him but he bowed his head slightly and smiled,
"I'm Jeremy, but you can call me Jinx 'cause that's what the boys call me," I smiled at him as warmly as I could and it seemed to help him return it. Finally, a less nervous boy held out his hand. He was the same height as the others, though he looked definitely less leg and broader shouldered, his voice was thick and gentle and his smile was calm and bright. He shook my hand,
"I'm Jake," he smiled. I looked at them one at a time, smirking and trying not to loose my nerve around the strangely tall people stood in front of me.
"It's nice to meet you all," I laughed, repeating my little curtsey and pretending to look for an imaginary skirt, this of course made them all laugh hysterically, "aye, no need to laugh! I'm new at this!" I fake pouted and as I did so CC lifted me up and over his shoulders, pulling me onto his back.
"Aw, can I keep her? Pwease!" I let out a squeal as I fake thrashed about, Andy's hands slowly pulling me from his friends clutches.
"No CC, let Juliet breath," he laughed. I think I'm gonna like this year...
