Dammit! I had been late for the bus before, to be honest probably more than most, however never on the SECOND day of school. Heart pounding, lungs burning, I turned the last corner as the bus stop appeared a mere hundred meters away. On my back a dark cameo bag flew intr I sped up, throwing my legs out as I sprinted full force, unfortunately there was no way I could make. The bus came round the corner, edging closer to the small crowd that had slowly accumulated. Ten... Nine... Must go faster... Eight... Seven... Six... Faster! Faster... Five... Four... Three... Closer... Two... Closer... One... Gone. Dammit!

It was hot out, it always is in Californian summer, there was no way I'd make it without melting, at least fully. Sweat glued my collar, my cuffs and my hair, my body stood stock still, raking from lack of air and folding in on its self from exhaustion. What now...

"Ju?" A sleek, black bodied car pulled up to the curb as I turned to locate the driver.

"Andy?" He smiled back at me, his hair obviously shorter and shaved on one side, he looked amazing. He patted the chair next to him, which was empty of course, laughing lightly.

"I'm guessing you need a ride?"

"Yeah, thanks!" I shifted slightly, releasing myself into the expensive style of car and noting quickly the amount of rock/metal CD's he had jammed in the island. It was not long before the car jerked to life, rumbling slightly, and we fell into a comfortable silence, me looking at his music and him staring at the road ahead.

He had a lot of Kiss for sure, mixed in with a few Motley Crew records and a heavy assortment of Alkaline Trio, all beautifully preserved and piled up next to his seat. However, his sound system display showed the name of a band I had never heard of 'BLACK VEIL BRIDES'. I went to touch the on switch to the speaker when a rough hand covered mine.

"Oh, what is this?" I wiggled my eyebrows at Andy's nervous expression, "maybe we should turn it on!"

"No, Juliet," he retracted his hand so he could turn a corner as the school came into sight, "those are just drafts from band rehearsal..." I smiled as we pulled up.

"Aw!" I could not help but laugh at his relieved expression, "is Andy embarrassed?"

"No," he sighed, "just not now, yeah?" But later....
