Tails' POV
I stood in the doorway for at least a minute just staring in disbelief at the sight of Cosmo laying unconscious on my bedroom floor. Am I hallucinating? I slowly crept toward her and tucked her green hair behind her ear revealing half of her face. The face I had to shoot at. The face I wished I could kiss. Whoa whoa whoa too far. Here she is lying facedown on my floor and all I can think about is kissing her.
I scooped her limp body into my arms and gently placed her on my bed. She was wearing only green shorts and a white tank top instead of her usual dress. I was just relieved she was dressed. Shaking these thoughts from my mind, I ran to my bathroom to grab a thermometer to take her temperature and a cold washcloth to put on her forehead just in case. Thankfully, her temperature came back as normal so I went to put the washcloth and thermometer back. When I walked back into my room, she was gone. All that was left were the covers that were moved by the presence of her body. "Cosmo?" I whispered and listened for any signs of movement in my bedroom. Suddenly, I heard someone falling down the stairs. I ran to the bottom of the staircase to find her on the ground curled up into a ball with tears streaming down her face. "Are you okay?" I asked and knelt down next to her. Her blue eyes opened, glistening with tears resulting in my eyes doing the same. "I can't believe you're here."
"Tails," she sat up slowly and embraced me there on the ground at the bottom of the staircase in my house, the house I never thought she would see, with her arms wrapped around me. We stayed like that for five minutes just hugging and crying tears of joy. "They gave me a second chance," she said as we pulled apart.
"Who did?" I asked.
"Everyone in Heaven. You know Tails, Heaven is real. I've been there," she attempted a joke which I guess made me frown. "I'm sorry! Too soon?"
"No no no not at all." I cleared my throat,"anyway, do you want something to drink or eat?"
"I would love some water, if it wouldn't be too much trouble," she smiled.
"It would be no trouble at all," I helped her off the ground and brought her into my-now spotless- kitchen feeling instantly grateful for the help I received today. "So... Uh, how are you?" I asked while pulling out a glass.
"I feel amazing," she smiled then looked at the glass with her eyes wide. "Do you think you could get me a plastic cup? I would feel awful if I broke one of your nice glass ones."
"No problem!" I put the glass cup back and pulled out a small plastic cup I got from Twinkle Park when I was little.
"You're house is really nice," she initiated the conversation, looking around at the dark cabinets and marble countertops. My parents are into expensive things.
"Thank you... Cosmo, I'm really glad you're here," an unwanted tear fell from my eye; I quickly wiped it away.
"I'm glad as well," she put her cup down on the counter and looked at me with those light blue eyes I can't get enough of. "Tails," she said after a moment,"do you know how to dance?"
"Uh..." was my response.
"I'm sorry if the question was unexpected, but I've been meaning to ask you that. The Blue Typhoon wasn't really the place to dance so I didn't want to ask you there," she stated rushed and awkwardly. "Never mind. Forget I said anything." She waved off her question.
"I do," I quickly responded. "I just wasn't expecting you to ask that. Do you know how to dance? Granted, it's been so long since I've done it so it might seem like I have two left feet."
"My sister taught me while we were on our ship. Do you want to dance?" She gained her confidence back and tip toed closer.
"I'll put some music on-" I was interrupted by her grabbing my hand and leaning against me.
"It's alright. We don't need music," she sighed. I wrapped my arm around her waist and I could feel my heart pounding against my chest where Cosmo had her head. "Breathe," she said, noticing my heart rate. So I inhaled the sweet smell of flowers and exhaled slowly letting myself wrap more around her. There we were, in my kitchen in the middle of the night, dancing without any music besides the rhythm of our breaths and heart beats.

The next morning I woke up on the couch. A smile instantly spread across my face as I leaped from under the blanket searching for Cosmo. I crept up the stairs and peeked inside my room. It was untouched and the flower pot was still on my bedside table with a little green leaf popping out of it. I stood in my doorway and cried. It was all just a dream.
