Serena's Last Wish

Chapter 2

"G-Gary?" I stutter his name

"Hey Ash, I gotta talk to you about something important."

"Gary, what the heck man?" I asked "How did you find me?"

"I promise I'll answer your questions later. But first, I need to tell you something important."

"Alright so what is it?"

"How would you like to go on a double date?"

What? A double date?

"Um... Sure but who will I take out on a date?"

"Try your little girlfriend, Serena. I bet she'll say yes."

"G-Girlfriend?!" I start to feel my face burn up a little as I hear him say that.

"Yeah, you guys take selfies and do those weird yoga poses and post it on PokéGram. Everyone thinks you guys are a couple."

"Alright, it's time for you to leave. I'll tell you what happens later. And you can tell everyone that we are not a couple."

I make my way to my door until Gary grabbed my wrist and gave me his number.

"What do I need this for?"

"What do you think Ashy-boy? To call me, how else am I supposed to know if you want to do this or not?." Gary said. I hate it when he calls me that name. We said our goodbyes and he headed towards the elevator.

I opened the door and saw that everyone was ready. We grabbed our things and left for the park. We played ultimate frisbee with our pokemons and had a lot of fun. I remember I had to switch teams a lot because it was difficult for the other team to score. We are our sandwiches and played some more until the sun was setting.

"You were great at ultimate frisbee Ash!" said Bonnie.

"Yeah, I never knew you could throw a frisbee like that." said Clemont. "Did you play the game often when you were little?"

"Yeah I did. I played it a lot back at Professor Oak's Summer Camp when I was younger."

"I remember now, you were the best player there!" said Serena.

"Now that I think about it, I was really good."

We made it back to the apartment and put away everything we took with us to the park. Clemont and Serena were in the kitchen cooking while Bonnie was in the living room watching television. I was about to take a nap in my bed until I heard a knock.

I looked to see who was at the door and I see Clemont. "Hey Clemont, what's up?"

"Oh, I'm just seeing if Serena had moved her things over to my bed."

"Well, she did but she didn't finish because you still haven't moved your things over to her previous bed."

"Oh yeah..."

He went back and forth trying to do two things at once. He moved his belongings to his new bed and when he came back to the room, he told me that dinner was ready. We ate a delicious pasta and called it a day. I was ok with seeing Serena sleeping in the bed next to mine instead of Clemont. A few moments pass and I decided to get a glass of water. As soon as I entered the kitchen, I bumped into Serena. She almost dropped her glass of water but I caught it just in time.

"I'm sorry Serena. I should be a little more careful next time."

"It's alright."

We both went to the kitchen and talked about what we were gonna do in the future.

"So Serena, you have two keys now. You just need one more and you'll become Kalos Queen."

"Yep and I can't wait! Pancham and Eevee have been able to work together a lot more. I can't wait to put their new relationship to work!"

"I would love to see your new performance soon."

"You'll get the chance too." She pauses. "Your battle against the Elite Four is coming up and soon, your battle against Diantha."

"I know. I believe my pokemon and I are ready to win!"

She smiled a little bit. She then looked down at her glass and stopped talking.

"Is something wrong?" I asked

"Oh, it's nothing. I was just wondering how much we've been through together on this journey. I can't wait for what's next."

"Oh, ok." I looked at the time. It was 1:47. "It's getting late Serena. Let's go back to bed."

"Yeah, let's go back."

Serena grabbed my arm and spun me around to face her. There was a long pause.

I waved my hands in her face. "Um... Why did you do that?" I asked.

She shook her head to pay attention to me again. "Can we do this from now on?"

"What? Get a glass of water and talk until it gets late?"

She nodded.

"Alright, I'm ok with it."

We said goodnight to each other and headed off to bed. It was nice having these late night conversations with her. We can actually talk about a lot of things like what happened when she moved to Kalos and I stayed at Kanto or maybe even give each other advice. Well, tomorrow will be new day for new experiences.
