Serena's Last Wish

Chapter 7

Sorry guys! I'm so sorry for not updating the story. I haven't been on for a while because I'm in the middle of essays and essays for school. Luckily for you guys, I'm back at it again!

Ash's POV

I can see Serena just standing there in the forest. Bonnie and Clemont weren't with me at this time but it makes me wonder where they're at. I decide to call out to her. 

"Serena!" She turned around. "Serena! It's me, Ash. I know you can hear me." She was still standing there. "Serenaaaaa! Can you come meet me halfway?" She still doesn't move. It's so weird. I'm still running to her but when I'm a good distance away from her, I can see something was wrong. "Hey Serena, are you alright?" 

"Who's Serena?" Her mouth was moving but it was her voice that was talking to me.

"Serena, what's going on? Why is your voice so different?"

"H...Help M...Me..." This time, she was speaking.

At this point, I am really scared. "Serena, what's going on?"

"Serena is not here anymore... She has abandoned her dreams and went back home." This time, it wasn't her that was talking."

"What are you talking about? She will never abandon her dreams of becoming Kalos Queen." This doesn't make any sense at all.

"It's time for you to face the truth Ash. Once you really ask her, she'll tell you the same thing. See ya later..." 

Before I even got the chance, everything started to disappear. I opened my eyes and saw Serena, Bonnie, and Clement sitting in chairs next to me. What were they doing here? I looked out the window but it wasn't there. It's usually on the right of my bed. I turned my head to the left and got blinded by the sunlight. Where am I?

"Ash!" Serena whispered. I turned to face her.

"Hey Sere- wait... Where are we?"

"You seriously don't remember?"

"Remember what?"

Flashback (To last chapter)

"Hey Ash, wake up." Serena whispered in my ear. 

"Hey Serena, wha-" She leaned in and kissed me on the cheek. "What was that for?"

"What, I can't kiss my boyfriend?"

"I just wanted to know, that's all." I gave her a kiss on the cheeks as well. "I need to tell you something."

"What is it?" She asked.

"I need to head to the Pokemon Center and get some medical supplies for Clemont."

"Why can't he get it himself?"

"He's trying to build a new invention to help train our pokemons."

"Oh, alright. Do you want me to come with you?"

"No it's alright. I'll be really quick. You won't even know that I left."

"Alright, I'll get your backpack ready for you." She leaves the living room and heads to the bedroom. I get up from the couch and head to the bathroom to freshen up. After doing what I do in the bathroom and changing, I head to the kitchen and grabbed an apple. I was about to leave the apartment until I noticed something.

"Forgetting something?" Serena asked as she is holding my backpack.

"Oh yeah, I forgot. Thanks Serena." I give her a quick kiss and leave the apartment. There was a whole bunch of cars outside. This one car almost hit me as I crossed the street. I wonder what happened. As I got closer to the Pokemon Center, I saw why there were so many cars recently. There was a car accident. It was really bad so I decided to go and help out the drivers. When I ran up to one of the drivers, I saw someone familiar.

"Professor Sycamore?"

"Ash? What are you doing here?"

"I came to get some medical supplies from the Pokemon Center until I saw this car accident."

"Since you're here, can you help me by moving this door? I left my tablet in there and it has my research on Mega Evolution on it."

"Yeah sure." I moved to door out of the way and went to go grab his tablet. Then all of sudden, there was an explosion. I couldn't see anything except for a sharp black object that was heading straight for me. Then everything faded to black.

Present Day

"That's what happened?" I asked. At this point, Bonnie and Clemont were awake.

"Yeah, Nurse Joy said that your body was pierced by a sheet of metal but they successfully removed the metal and closed up your wounds. You will recover quickly." Clemont said. 

Serena got up and motioned Clemont and Bonnie to the door and they left. "Serena, what's up?" She sat down at my side and looked down. The rim of her hat was covering her eyes but I can see tears trickling down her cheek.

"Serena..." I tried to move my arm but the IV needle pinched my arm so I kept still.

"Ash, stop. Don't move your arm."

"Can you at least tell me what's wrong?"

She sighed a little to calm down. "I should've went with you. If I went with you, this would've never happened. You would be at home, not here in the Pokemon Center."

"Why are you blaming yourself for something you clearly weren't apart of? It's my fault for just standing there and watching the metal impale me. You did nothing wrong." I moved my arm to place my hand on her shoulder. The pain was stinging a lot but I didn't care.

"Ash... You're really reckless, you know that right?"

"Yeah, but where are you going with this?"

"You being reckless may be the cause of your..." She hesitated. "Your death." I froze when she said that. My death? Well, there have been times when I threw myself into dangerous situations like jumping off the top of Prism Tower to rescue Pikachu. Luckily for me, that Mega Blaizken saved us both. But what would happen if he was never there to save us? I stayed in silence as I thought about it. 

Clemont opened the door. "Serena, visiting hours are about to end."

"Alright Clemont. In the future, I want you to think about the situation before you act. Alright Ash?"

"You're right, I should." She leaned over to give me a kiss and left. Once they left, I heard running. I saw Serena talking to Nurse Joy and opened the door. I pretended to be asleep and saw that she was going to spend the night here with me. Now that I think about it, did I ever get the Professor's tablet? Who knows, maybe he did or he didn't but he owed me for what happened.
