Ambers POV
I woke up with a pair of tattooed arms around me. They felt comforting and familiar. I looked around the room and it looked like I was back in Syn's room. I couldn't be, but this was all too familiar. I tried to work my way out of the arms holding me close, and spotted one of the tattoos I've known far too well. It was one of the first tattoos I did when I got out of my apprenticeship. It was a small little bat done on Syn's arm. The memory made me smile a bit. We were packing up for tour, before Jackson died. Avenged was going into the studio to record their album City of Evil. Syn begged me for a keepsake to remember me by.
"Brian, I need to go... I got to get my shop closed up for right now and get back home and pack. I need to spend some time with Jimmy before I leave." I really wanted to see him more, but I spent all my time lately at the shop. I was finally off my apprenticeship and it felt amazing. I loved the feeling of creating something permanent on someones skin. It's like a walking billboard for my art. My master even says I'm a natural.
"Babe... please..." He begged. Thats when I had an idea. I'd give him a tattoo, and he could design one for me. We'd been together for a couple years already, and I'd hope one day I could marry him.
"Let me tattoo you?" I asked, hoping he'd say yes. I had an idea, I'd tattoo on him one of my favorite little creatures, a bat.
"I think that would be cool, only if I could design one for you though." He laughed, after thinking it over for a bit. I pulled out my machine and started setting it up. I went into the back and drew up the small stencil while Brian talked over his tattoo idea for me with my boss Tommy. He nodded and went into the back.
"You're gonna like yours Am..." Tommy said smiling at me as he went to our drawing station.
I sat back down and Brian held out his arm that already had was mostly covered and I found the perfect spot. I placed the stencil and he smiled at me.
"It's your favorite animal." I kissed him quick, and got to work. I was slightly worried tattooing him, only because it meant a lot more than a normal client. Not that I didn't take care of the few clients I had, but he was my boyfriend. I see him daily, and while he's in the studio that's gonna be his way of knowing I was always with him, no matter how far apart we were. It took me about 40 minutes, and I loved glancing up at Brian's face when I was getting more ink. He looked so adorably happy. His smile really made my heart skip a beat. I was cleaning off the excess ink, and I grabbed some plastic wrap and wrapped it around his arm when I was done.
"It's beautiful love." He kissed my forehead as I removed my gloves.
"I'm glad you like it." I told him as Tommy came out with the stencil for my tattoo. I capped my ink and put my machine away. I moved over to Tommy's station as Brian followed behind. I sat in his chair, and saw the stencil that Tommy drew up. It was the word 'Syn' in a cursive-calligraphy style writing with a few tiny bats around his name. Brian pointed to where he wanted it to go, my left wrist. I smiled as I held it out for Tommy to put the stencil on. I felt bad, because even though I'm an artist, I don't sit the best for tattoos. I'm slightly too twitchy. I've gotten better, but it did take Tommy longer to get my tattoo done than it normally would have. The entire time I had the familiar pain from a tattoo, I kept looking at Brian who was holding my hand and petting my hair. I really was going to miss him. But, we both understood that we were both touring and recording constantly. We were gonna spend a lot of time apart. The tattoo was perfect when Tommy finished. It was the perfect reminder that Brian was mine and that he was always with me no matter what happens on the road. It was comforting.
I sighed as I pushed his arm off me. I really did miss him. As I made my way downstairs, I saw everyone had left his house from last nights holiday party. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up back at mine and Jimmy's to be honest. Usually that's how the party travels. We invite a bunch of people over to one of the guys houses and they end up back at ours and crashed for the night.
I went to Syn's bathroom and tried to fix my hair. I gave up and grabbed a hair tie off my wrist and tied it up. I went back upstairs and saw Syn was still sleeping. I smirked to myself at the memories of how many times I was in this familiar situation of having to shake him awake. I almost let him sleep, but I did need to borrow some of his clothes.
Well, we were together for 3 and a half years, I can go through his closet on my own. I opened half of it and found some old shirts, but before I picked one I opened the other half only to find out what else he had. On the other half surprised me. It was a box of my old clothes I had left here before we broke up. We broke up 2 years ago.. was last night just an accident, or did Syn still like me?
