"Welcome."
I sweat-dropped, post my choking on stray rose petals. Or leaves? Oddly enough, they were green.
The whole room was green. Drapes had been replaced with lime colored curtains. The chairs had been strapped with emerald cushions. Teacups were a deep forest, accompanied by the unoriginal pun "Green Tea".
"What's with the green?"
My eyes flew from their viridian costumes, to the jade clovers, adorning the walls.
"My daughter!"
Tamaki cupped my face in his hands, me squirming just a tad.
"Tell me you know of St. Patrick's Day!"
"I do?"
"Ahhh!!!"
A miniature meltdown proceeded, consisting of weak consolation from "Mommy" and obnoxious wailing, by "Daddy".
"She's never heard of St. Patrick's Day!!! I've failed as a father."
"Yes, you have."
The twins patted Tamaki's blonde mass of hair.
"So," I swiveled to face the nearest host,"what is this Patrick thingy?"
A few clicks later, and a laptop was thrust in my face. The tab was opened to Wikipedia, and a drawn out description.
"Irish holiday...Catholics...March 17...Green."
I skimmed the passage, a few words slipping between my silent reading.
"Oh...But, Tamaki?"
The depressed blonde, lifted his eyes to my lips.
"We're not in freaking Ireland!"
A huge, Irish flag encased our background, and the twins flopped on the ground in utter despair.
"Damn it, she's right."
They tugged at their green uniforms, as if they were unworthy.
"So I can take this off?"
Kyoya, with obvious hilarity, gestured towards his malachite top-hat, banded by sheer ribbons. He already knew Tamaki had, once again, deprived his plan of sense.
"Toño," the twins shot back up, swaying like a mindless pendulum," what do we now?"
"We...respect the Irish!"
"Let's go, Tama-chan!"
Honey, outfitted in a kelly green kilt, raised his small hand to salute, while Mori, quite blankly, mirrored the motion.
*timeskip*
Hikaru and Kaoru, simultaneously collapsed onto a shamrock colored sofa.
"We explained the green about four million times-
"And they still didn't get it."
"Tono, nobody knows what this holiday is!"
"I do! A long time ago, my dad-"
"Get over it, Senpai."
My eyes landed, on the outstanding shades of green, blending in an undesirable fashion.
"Look, it's just not Japanese!"
"So?"
His elbows shrugged, in a why-not manner.
"Because we're in Japan!"
An irk mark pulsed at the top of my forehead.
"Sorry..."
He shrunk, odd apparel and all, into his emotional corner. Only this time around, his mushrooms were green.
*timeskip*
My foot slapped the tiles of the deserted hallway. The five minute leeway between classes had barely begun, and I had raced towards my red locker, glad to come across abandoned rows. Tamaki, strode past me, flanked by a horde of girls, before double taking.
"Oh, ------! How was your St. Patrick's Day?"
"Good....I guess, you?"
"Great! When I went home our chef themed our whole meal with the color green! Apple tart, scallion pancakes, beef negimaki! It was delicious!"
"I'm glad..."
A light laugh escaped my mouth, parting my lips.
"What?"
"You're kind of cute when you rant."
I tapped his nose, effectively resulting in a crimson blush.
"I-Is that so?"
"Speechless?"
A fit of giggles flowed out, despite my efforts to suppress. His only answer, was his brightening skin tone, leaping from faint to full blown.
"Yeah. It's one of my favorite things about you."
His eyes sparkled with the flattery.
"Really?! Do you mean it?"
He prodded my arm, with weak shoves.
"Yes...Now get out off me, Senpai!"
He detached his hand, robotically, sliding down the hall, piercing basil socks visible from beneath the hem of his slacks.
I think green's my new favorite color....
Before you say it, St. Patrick's Day was days ago. I know, Gomenasai! But I was kind of busy! So yeah, thanks for reading. A really cute Tama-chan moment! Comment and vote PLEASE. ARIGATO
