Unknown POV:
I've lived in Republic city for a few years now and I hate it, there are injustices everywhere I look. Benders attack non benders, non benders attack benders, it's just an endless circle of misery and it seems like nothing can stop it.Every day there seems to be one problem after another. I can't turn a corner without seeing a fight break out! And what's worse is that non benders hate us benders so much that even when we help them, they want to hurt us.
All of the non benders I have met took one look at me and either ran for their lives like I was going to unleash horrible power on them or they tried to attack me!
I can't win! On one hand I'm not going to let innocents suffer but it's hard to tell who is in fact an innocent and who is not!
I have yet to meet another bender who is not just out to cause trouble and who actually just wants to practice their art! It's amazing! I bet in Avatar Aangs time it was different, I bet it was better.
Now I am walking along the cold streets freezing while I make my way back home, and by home I mean an alley way where I was able to find some old blankets that had been thrown out.
I have been living like this since I got here and nobody wants to help benders anymore, either they are scared of us or they hate us! I can't decide which is worse.
When I am making my way around a corner I hear a bunch of commotion, I walk as quietly as I can so that if I need to I can launch a sneak attack.
I look around the corner and see four people around my age fighting against what looks like a firenation gang, man I hate these bender gangs! They are so annoying!
Well I better help.
I pull out my knife and throw it which pins one of the firenation gang members to the wall, I see all of them looking at me as I rush into action, I pull out my water skin and do the water whip while kicking and flipping through the air.
I manage to slap what seems to be the leaders face hard with the water whip while I kick another member in the stomach which brings a smile to my face, all the while I can feel the other gangs eyes looking at me.
I must say I felt really impressive and I was happy, but my happiness was short lived when I felt enormous pain in my side I look down and see a small blade imbedded in my skin, I hold back a scream and continue beating the crap out of this jerk wads.
I look around me and see that all of the firenation gangs members are knocked out and then jump down from where I had been attacking and hear a sickening crunch and discover it's my ankle that made the noise.
Before the other gang can confront me I run for it and make it to my little hide away where I had also recently put a bear hide across the alley way so I could have some privacy, I slip inside and collapse onto my "bed" by which I mean mangled old blankets.
I look at my side and feel warm liquid just rushing out, I grab what is left of my gauze that I had stolen and sharp to the best of my ability but I left the knife in for now. I just could not bring myself to yank it out.
And then there was my ankle, which had now become a dark purple and green color, hmm green that does not look too good. I propped it up Which is all I could really do for it since I was out of gauze.
I had drifted off to sleep when I suddenly heard voices.
Voice 1: Where could she have gone?
Voice 2: I don't know but did you see her bending!? It was amazing!
Voice 3: That's not exactly the point Bolin.
Voice 2: Well it was.
Voice 4: We really need to find her, she got hurt pretty bad.
Voice 3: Korra so you think we could take her to Air Temple Island?
Voice 1: I don't see why not but first we need to find her.
Voice 4: Hey look!
Voice 1: What is it Asami?
Voice 4: There is a bear pelt hanging up, I don't know why that would be unless someone put it there.
I hear the footsteps get louder and then I can hear my own heartbeat. Then I see four shadows behind the pelt and a hand reach for it to push it back.
Four faces appear
Voice 1: There you are!
"What do you people want from me!?
Voice 4: We don't want anything from you, we just want to help.
Voice 1: I'm Korra
Voice 4: I'm Asami
Voice 2: I'm Bolin
Voice 3: And I'm Mako
They all look at me expecting something
Bolin: And you are?
"Sammy"
Korra: Nice to meet you Sammy, now what do you say to coming with us to Air Temple Island where we can get you patched up?
Sammy: I don't know, how do I know I can trust you?
Asami: Because, if we wanted to hurt you, we would have done it already.
Mako: You know she's right
I take a minute to consider and then I feel a blinding pain in my side and move my hands to it as I hiss in pain.
The girl named Asami rushes over to me and bends down and takes my hands off my wound.
Asami: We gotta move fast.
Korra: Mako or Bolin can one of you carry her?
The boy named Bolin steps forward and I feel myself being lifted which only brings more pain.
Asami: I think we better take my car Korra, I think Naga will agrivate her wound too much.
Korra nods and Bolin lays me down in the back of the car and gets in the front whole Mako and Korra take the polar bear dog who assume is Naga and we start to head a course for Air Temple Island.
