Korras POV:
Once Katata got Sammy to sleep I got comfortable in a chair near her bed and just sit there in silence, then Tenzin walks in.

Korra: Hey Tenzin

Tenzin: Korra, you need to get out of this room, it's not healthy for you.

Korra: No Tenzin I feel a connection to Sammy and I don't know why!  I just feel like I can't leave her.

Tenzin sighs and then pulls up another chair next to mine.

Tenzin: Look Korra, one thing you need to learn as an Avatar is that you may feel connections to people but your duty is not just to one person, and you still need to train and you can't do that if you are sitting in this room.

Korra: Tenzin, this girl has no one!  She was alone when we found her!  She is not going to be alone anymore!  If I have learned anything from your mother it's that I will never turn my back on people who need me!

Tenzin: Korra I-

Korra: No!  You know what you are just like your uncle!

I have never felt this angry but I could not believe that the son of Avatar Aang could be this selfish!  Finally he took a sigh in defeat and left the room, I could finally just think, but of course then the gang walked in and just rolled my eyes.

Korra: What?  Are you guys going to lecture me too!?

Bolin: Well they are but I just came in to see how Sammy was doing.

Korra: Ok then Bolin you can stay but Asami and Mako you can't.

Mako: KORRA!  YOU ARE BEING SUCH A CHILD!  YOU HAVE SO MANY OTHER DITIES AND YOU ARE SITTING IN A ROOM WOTH A GIRL WE DONT EVEN KNOW!

Asami: Mako, take it easy.

That was it I lost it.  I sent a wave of air at Mako and pushed him out the door, I see Asamis eyes go wide and she just backs out of the room.

I look over and Sammys eyes were fluttering open.

Korra: I'm sorry I was so loud Sammy, go back to sleep.

Sammy: No it's ok I'm not tired anymore can I sit up?

Korra: I don't know if that's a good idea, but you can stay awake if you want to.  Do you feel any better?

Sammy: I mean I'm awake if that's what you mean.

She smiles a weak smile and I smile back.

Korra: So, why did you help us?

She shrugs

Sammy: I just thought that you guys seemed like you needed it and you guys were fighting a gang and I hate them so I figured why not help.

I smile

Korra: I like the way you think.  So what are you doing on the streets alone?

Sammy: It's all I have really ever known, and I just get by, practice my bending, try to stay alive.

Korra: Well, you are not going to be alone anymore Sammy, don't worry.

I look at Sammy and smile and she smiles back.
