Chapter 1

I had already made up my mind to be a fighter when I was young, I always loved the action. I am now seventeen and I had learnt to train to fight alongside my brothers. However I wanted to fight more and more for a living. Being a princess is great and all, but I don’t like the shelter and protection. I want to be able to take care of myself and others, not just stay home and do the things a princess is supposed to do.

"Give that back." I said calmly to Jacob as he smiled cheekily and tried to run away with the remote. Of all the televisions in this castle, he chooses to use mine.

"Come and get it." He said challenging me with his eyes. None of us could back down from a challenge; I guess we all had a little bit of alpha in us, but not enough to make us a strong alpha as Xavier.

I took off from the couch ran after him. He tried to run away, but not quick enough. I tripped him up, and locked him to the ground with my arm across his neck. He looked up at me in shock. I've never shown them my real ability to fight… that was personal at the moment. I kissed him on the cheek, grabbed the remote and flicked back to vampire diaries.

"Ah common Rain, this show sucks." He moaned getting off the floor to sit next to me.

"Take that back." I ordered.

"No." he argued back. I knew I could not win this one so I gave up and turned back to my show.

"You know it's nearly time to go to school again, we start tomorrow. How about we do something fun today." Xavier said coming in the room with Nathanial behind him.

"I agree, we need to go shopping for school. I need more clothes." I said thinking of going to the mall.

"Not exactly what I had in mind." Xavier murmured.

"Common, it'd be fun." I said trying to be persuasive. "Let's make the most of today before we go to boarding school tomorrow."

"Cool, there would be some good looking girls there right?"  Jacob asked. I nodded and I knew he was in.

"I'm in." said Nathanial thinking the same thing as Jacob.

"Fine lets go."

"Yes." I said happily. "I'm defiantly taking my car." My brothers rolled their eyes at my stating the obvious. I always took my car. We went down to the garage and all got into our own cars in sync. Mine was the most beautiful. Lexus.  As my seventeenth birthday gift. Mum was not too keen on me driving, as she feared me getting into accidents, however Cole and Chris didn’t mind me driving. We started on our way to the mall, Xavier leading the way. And I in the middle protected.

It was safe to leave the house on our own, once we were in Lock Hart. Anywhere else we will need protection, but this place is very safe. No one can enter without safety precautions. I felt free here.

When we arrived, we got out of our cars in sync. We tend to do these things together, it was just natural. The same happened to my fathers. It was entertaining to say the least. Everyone had stopped what they were doing and bowed their heads. They always did this, I've kind of gotten used to it.

We smiled at them and they went about their business. The bowing was a way of showing respect to us as their royals.

I put my shades down and walked inside the building to avoid eye contact with anyone. We visited a few stores before we come to my favourite boutique.

"Hey Shannon." I smiled at my friend the owner of this boutique. She naturally bowed and greeted be back.

"Hey Emerald, last minute shopping?" she asked knowing I was here not too long ago.
